“Good: The hotel is well located and impressive in its public areas. All the staff are friendly and polite The breakfast is very good Not so good: The room itself was not too impressive. The room was stuffy, safe didn’t work, and the shower was a trickle. Overall location 10 out of 10 so if you are out and about exploring York all day and arriving/departing by train it would be good choice. If you want to relax in your room then I would recommend a different room category or another hotel. ”

“Beautiful hotel and very nice bathroom, bed was comfortable. Quiet environment and around 20 mins walk to city centre. Only thing is we have big luggage but there is no lift.”

“Overall a very good hotel. But the first morning the fire alarm went off at 655am. No fire. Same morning no hot water.”

“The hotel looks stunning from outside and whilst the common areas are small, they are beautifully decorated in a way similar to The Pig chain if you know that (quirky). Our room wasn’t that big and whilst the 4 poster bed was very comfy, it almost crowded the room too much. The tea and coffee machine was housed in a dolls house and on the landing was a ‘pantry’ where you could help your self to drinks and snacks. Again quirky and smile inducing. “First time staying here on a Christmas shopping trip with my sister. Absolutely perfect location. The hotel itself is stunning, the decor and room was beautiful. The staff are a credit as all so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Before checking out we've already decided we want to return next year. ”

“A nightmare experience lived in this hotel, this hotel need to contact the staff after 4 pm check-in, you can only contact a phone number, we did not have a phone number in the UK, so we need to find someone on the street to contact the staff, finally we could contact the staff, with a very bad attitude with impolite words spoke to us, never book this hotel especially for foreigners!”
