“Super friendly and helpful staff throughout the building and attached restaurant. Slightly older decoration but clean and comfortable. Perfect location, just off main road. Large twin room was great for relaxing in.”

“Good value for money. Clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was basic but fine - we actually walked to the Wetherspoons just up the road. The hotel was nice and quiet and had a large kitchen, which we didn't need to use. En suite was good. We didn't have any of the issues mentioned by others - there was tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc in the room plus spares in the kitchen. Entry codes were sent well before arrival.”

“I will definitely be back at the Red Lion when I’m next in the area, it’s a lovely pub and the rooms which are located just across the car park are excellent. They’re clean, comfy and small touches like crisps and biscuits top off a lovely place. The hosts are very nice and they’re very welcoming within the pub aswell which serves outstanding food. ”

“Hosts Debbie and her husband were extremely friendly and helpful, even giving us a lift to town in the evening. The accommodation is to a high standard on a quiet road overlooking fields. Great breakfast in the morning. It is around a 15 to 20 minute walk in to town. Would definitely book again.”

“Lovely hotel situated close to castle and Cathedral. Many pubs and restaurants close by. All staff we interacted with were delightful. Room was clean with very comfortable bed. Breakfast also good, cooked to order. ”
