" The Black Sands Inn offered a wonderful stay right on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. I had some trepidation about the self-check in process, but all went well. The exterior of the building needs some TLC, but my room was clean, beautifully appointed, and comfortable. I enjoyed the meditative sound of the ocean, walks around the small community of Shelter Cove, and conversations with some of the local residents. The visit to the Inn and area was great."

"We really enjoyed the house — it had a beautiful view, an excellent BBQ, a cozy night by the outdoor fire, and the jacuzzi was amazing! We brought our dog and he was so happy. We even did our baby’s gender reveal there, and it was incredible. I would definitely stay here again.The house was very clean, with board games, a speaker to play music, and a fully equipped kitchen. The coffee machine was excellent — everything was just perfect and spotless. There were even some beautiful bikes in the garage, perfect for taking a ride around Shelter Cove, which is such a gorgeous area."

"We had to suddenly get a room as we were camping and bad weather set in. The staff were so kind and accommodating. Check in time was 3:00, but because our room was ready they allowed us to check in at 9:00am!!! The room overlooked a fabulous rocky beach where we sat on our balcony and watched the seals on the rocks below. Our room was actually an apartment with a king size bed. They did not skimp on any thing… plentiful towels, coffee, creamer, soaps, lotions… To be honest, the outside of the complex was a little too rustic and a little unkempt, but the rest makes up for it tenfold. Bravo!"

"We had an awesome stay at the property, views on both floors were incredible, we got lucky with the warm weather and calm seas. Spacious seating arrangements both inside and outside. The hot tub makes it feel like you’re part of the ocean. Took the kids to tide pools and rode the bikes around the neighborhood. Saw lots of wildlife and picked some wild black berries. Will be back. "We had an amazing time and what a view! We loved drinking our morning coffee on the deck while watching the waves crash on the rocks, and the deer walking through the property! We even actually saw whales in the cove. We were surprised that we had no Internet reception there, but it was kind of nice to be cut off from the world for a day. It was so relaxing!"
