We loved our stay at Duck Bay. It was a special birthday treat for my mum and we booked the a premium suite and it was amazing! The views of the loch was outstanding. All Shine, No Substance at Duck Bay

If you’re after a stunning view, Duck Bay certainly delivers – the loch is breathtaking. Sadly, that’s where the charm ends. The rest feels like a duck decoy: glossy on the surface, but hollow underneath. Reception staff weren’t rude, but they might as well have been automated – check-in and check-out were delivered in flat monotone, and no one seemed to care that my stay was merely “okay.” The room was basic, with decor so synthetic it practically quacked of plastic. The smell of it lingered until I opened the patio doors – but that just invited in mosquitos. The bathroom was worse: black mould in the shower, a glass shelf that made every bottle placed on it slide off, and water pressure so weak it barely qualified as a shower. To top it off, music from the deserted outdoor area blared into the night. Reception had already shut by 9pm, so I had to call the restaurant to have it turned down. Duck Bay may look the part, but for the price of a supposedly three-star hotel, it’s all plastic feathers and no real duck. I won’t be paddling back.

The check in was the best past of our stay. Cosy lit up reception. Rooms below average. I phoned ahead to reauest room in quiet part of hotel. My room was next to the front door. Sound proofing non existant. Constant doors banging. Televions on all night. Can hear conversations from other rooms.. Our door was tried several times during the night. Felt unsafe. No one around at reception. Extremely noisy. Had 2 hour sleep in 2 nights. Feeling ill leaving this place. Would NEVER recommend. A waste of 2 days of my life! Exhausted.

Fabulous Hotel with wonderful views

Lovely modern hotel with fabulous views over Loch Lomond. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant on Sunday evening and was offered the option of Sunday Roast Dinner. Would have loved a vegetarian roast option.
