"I stupidly asked Gemini " I want to surprise my daughter with a weekend away, the destination doesn't matter the highlight of the trip is the hotel" and The Earl of Doncaster came up, as one of the options on the train route selected The staff were lovely from the off, both front of house and bar staff, but it wasn't the experience I wanted. We stayed in room 215, in the right corner of the room had major water damage, wall paper and ceiling were brown. The bathroom was nice enough, wet room and everything looked clean. The ceiling maybe made of papier mache as you can hear every footstep from the rooms above Finally, the actual stay, 215 is above the function room, I had a 7 year old in tears as she couldnt get to sleep.as the noise was ridiculous, the volume was reduced around 11:45 but it could still be heard. I mentioned it on the way out when I was asked how my stay was, the reponse to my honest feedback "we cant control noisy guests" Anyway, I'd say fine as a base for the races if you're planning to make noise yourself, otherwise avoid."

"I selected to pay on arrival, but the payment was taken the day before I checked in. Because I had booked 5 separate rooms for colleagues, I initially thought my card had been skimmed because it was taken in five separate transactions. I'd selected pay at property so each colleague could pay separately - which added more inconvenience when it was all taken from my account"

"Wonderful customer service. I phoned to say that I would be late for final check in (10pm) and Alexandra, the lovely lady on the front desk, made sure I was checked in dignity and made me feel so safe about arriving late. This was my second time visiting The Swan for work trips to Blyton Park track. Couldn’t recommend this B&B enough. Perfect for solo female travellers."
