"Nice continental breakfast served in the Del Mater Inn down the street. We stayed at the Beekman arms and it was very nice. Nice little carafe of Sherry for the end of the day. No elevator must carry your suitcase up the stairs. Nothing fancy, but very quaint."

"The place is old, but was refurbished in years past. The closet door mirror was broken. Black ants in the bathroom. On the positive side, it was one minute away from FDR's house and library, and a little bit away from a new shopping center with a supermarket. The guy who checked us in was friendly. Breakfast was waffles and oatmeal; some fruit was out to grab. Hyde Park is not what we expected. The town looks tired. It needs updating in many areas, but at least there is new commerce coming in here and there."

Tub was fine although it needs to be slip proofed for those of us who are seniors and need to be extra careful about falls ( definitely a potential liability issue for hotel). Breakfast was good and water view was a bonus. Overall, it was a charming place ( albeit older), off the beaten path of hotel row along Route 9 in Poughkeepsie."
