Excellent property directly opposite the port. Old buildings as expected, but beautifully refurbished. My room was large, spotlessly clean and full of nice touches, including lots of tabletops and drawers. The big surprise was the bathroom. It was enormous with a large modern soaker tub, separate shower stall, wc and vanity. (The only downside is trying to find a parking spot which is very difficult throughout this town, so be prepared to drop off, or walk with your luggage.) The restaurant is outstanding and much in demand. You absolutely must make a reservation! I had a delicious appetizer salad, wonderful fish and chips as a main and a selection of ice cream and sorbet for dessert. All was beautifully presented and promptly served. What really stood out were the staff, who were friendly and eager to help with any request. An excellent team of locals who work hard but obviously enjoy it. I highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely location right by the water. Well decorated, clean room off a little walkway to the back of the main building which was super quiet. Parking near the hotel was a bit of a challenge as it seemed to be the peak summer season but the staff were helpful to point out a free parking lot a short walk away from the hotel. The breakfast was a highlight, with lots of options to choose from and wonderfully attentive staff. We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed exploring the waterfront area around the hotel.

The staff were incredible, and the breakfast was the BEST. So much food, pleasantly presented and very delicious. The rooms were very dependant on which one you got. My travel partner’s room was lovely. Mine was on the top floor and had a very tiny window and a skylight. It felt very cramped. The bed was fairly comfortable, but there were stains on the duvet cover and the pillows were INCREDIBLY hard. The pillow situation was the same in both rooms. My bathroom did not have a window, and there was a sign that said to keep the door closed when in use as not to set off the fire alarm. The housekeeping staff appear to start work around 7am and use rooms in the building, which was noisy at times. Also for the scent-sensitive crowd, they do not use unscented soap, and when staff are working the building is extra scented.

Room and staff great. Very good food. Buzzing atmosphere. But aware of you book the rooms in Harbour View you do not get a harbour view!! It us just the name of the building! To get a view of the harbour you need to book one of the 2 superior rooms.

The staff really make this place go. It is a little quirky and parking can be an issue depending on your arrival. But this is the perfect place to stay in Anstruther. The restaurant is exceptional, but the staff really made our stay. Super nice and understanding.
