Beach Sand Nourishment Project Blocked Oceanfront Access
Our OBX vacation at this VRBO location was a massive disappointment. We paid for an oceanfront home with a view and private beach access. Due to a known sand nourishment project taking place by the property management and VRBO, and with no notification to myself as a renter, neither our beach access nor view was afforded. The construction crew worked 24/7 our entire 7 day stay with very loud heavy machinery, bright spotlights every hour of the night, and a foul smelling setup of portapottys on our beach front residence. It is incredibly disappointing VRBO did not inform us of this project, and still charged us full price after misrepresentation of the home. It is further frustrating that I have made multiple attempts to speak with a representative, and have received no response on the matter whatsoever, or any form of compensation in the form of a refund. Our vacation home was not what we paid for, and vrbo has made zero effort to right this wrongdoing of improper informative information that should have been provided to myself and our party of paying customers. Vrbo should make a greater effort to inform renters of the inconvenience of this kind of situation we were forced to work around.
(Side note- The home has black mold present in hvac vents)
