“The location was great with a lovely sea view. All the staff were pleasant especially Josh who helped with bags . My only complaint is the standard of the room. It's very dated and needs TLC . Plaster falling off some of the walls. No bedside tables. Old shower curtain. Also breakfast was extra. We spoke with other people who was staying at another hotel cheaper rate with breakfast included. I wouldn't book again.”

“The breakfast was good, both choice and quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It appears that they welcome dogs in some rooms. My room was clean and the bed was comfy. There wasn't any parking at the premises, but I was able to find an on street space relatively nearby.”

“Good location in beautiful scenery not far from some walks. On a main road but it was completely silent at night. Suite was lovely and bigger than expected, with beautiful views, and a very modern bathroom with a fab shower. The bed did have a weird slope to it though which put our feet higher than our heads! Food in the pub at dinner time was expensive and average, although breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Enjoyed our stay very much. ”

“Generally a good experience, but with reservations. A hotel of character, much nicer than bland city tower blocks, but ready for overall refurbishment. Very un-green: no double glazing anywhere I saw. Room cleaning skimpy - glass shelf over sink always left unwiped, tea provisions not topped up adequately, bath not wiped round. Food excellent quality, well prepared. More choice of breakfast buffet items would be welcome. If you are solo and book in advance for dinner, be aware that you might……

“Beautiful property, spotlessly clean. Everything we needed for our weekend stay. We were a group of 8 people and it was perfect. Plenty of room for us all and we all said that we would happily stay there again.”

“The cottage is spacious, with a big kitchen and cosy lounge. There are lots of bed options and towels provided. Unfortunately, very basic items like cloths (for cleaning surfaces), dishwasher tablets, and teatowels are not provided, making it difficult to keep everything clean during the stay. In addition, the heating is inadequate, with the thermostat only on at fixed times and the space quickly getting cold again. Thankfully, there were mobile heaters that we were able to keep on in the……
