We saw a sign for some church ruins. How could I not go? These ruins are owned by a private owner and can be walked around free of charge.

Known also as the Sheldon Church or Old Sheldon Church, the building was originally known as Prince William's Parish Church. The church was built as a chapel of ease in the English Georgian style, using the Roman Tuscan or Doric order, between 1745 and 1753.

The traditional understanding is that Prince William's was burned by the British in 1779 during the Revolutionary War, rebuilt in 1826, and then burned again in 1865 during the Civil War:

“Margaret is a good host. prompt in answer ?s & was determined to settle a serious problem we had on property. Condo was well stocked with all we needed (except beach/pool towels) recommend an extra wash cloth when we had 5 listed for the stay. The condo could use updating, especially bathrooms. 25 to park in community, which we did not know until we checked our check in instructions. The listing says no additional fees. But Not a huge deal, so we checked in with no issue at the guard shack……

“We stayed here as a group of six adults and one baby, and I was genuinely impressed. The place was spotless, very comfortable, and incredibly convenient. It’s close to golf courses, the beach, and all the facilities you might need. Parking was easy and never a problem. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere made our stay really enjoyable. I definitely recommend this place and would happily come back. Great experience!”

“This condo had everything you needed for a very comfortable stay. The furniture, appliances, and decorations were high-end and in wonderful condition. We appreciated the extra touches like blankets to use at night while watching TV and the books and puzzles to pass the time away during the chilly and rainy weather we had during our stay (we stayed end of October) and the hair dryers, curling and flat irons in the bathrooms. “What a wonderful beach condo. The listing and photos were exactly as seen. Everything was immaculately clean. The views were amazing. The size of the condo was perfect for a family of 4 adults and an infant. The living room furniture was comfortable for relaxing. “We had the BEST experience! Jim began communicating with us days before our stay even began. He was readily available for anything and everything throughout our entire stay. The customer service that we received throughout our stay was 12/10! This place was perfect for me, my spouse, our 4 year old, and our fur babies. “The condo was clean and roomy with nice furniture and provided plenty of kitchen cookware. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. The condo overlooks the pool as described in the listing with a table on the balcony convenient for eating outside. Check in was easy and convenient. The garage made loading and unloading easy especially since it was raining. We’ve been coming to HHI for many years and this was the best location yet.”
