“I've stayed here, overnight, on two occasions in the last month. During both stays I have come down for a continental breakfast either at 7.45am or 8.30am only to find the through door into the breakfast area was locked and no one around to give access. This meant I had to go to a nearby shop to buy breakfast at an extra cost to me even though it was already part of my booking cost. “Very nice, big room. Very comfortable bed, good bathroom. Lovely pub. Great cooked breakfast. Friendly, good value for money.”

“It was excellent value, comfy and cosy. Loved that there was a bath AND shower (useful if you break your wrist so bath is the only option). Staff were really nice and helpful, and cheered me up after hospital with hot chocolate. No food as out of season (so check first if you want breakfast). I would go back though as great base for walks”

“Staff were amazing 10/10 Food amazing Very accommodating Rooms says soundproof but wasn’t and corridors smell of the food, overall though we had a lovely time and used as a base and we enjoyed the food they served 10/10”

“Lovely junior garden room with a very nice view! Very cosy and dog friendly! Super food served and the staff especially Jane & Lauren were so lovely and gave super service! Would highly recommend staying or dining here!”

“Room is tidy, breakfast is very nice. Need to enhance the security. Windows without lock, door locks are loose.”

“A great stay at The George. A warm welcome, great comfy family room and wonderful breakfast.”

“Absolute gem of a place to stay. Gorgeous room with everything you need & so peaceful. The food was really good both for dinner & breakfast. We visited Fountains Abbey which was only 2 miles away. And we could do parkrun with plenty of time to get back before checkout & eat breakfast. Would love to return.”

“Beautiful location, very clean, friendly staff, delicious food. We will definitely visit again, thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!”

“Its a village pub. Vegi food was disgraceful but fine if you want a supermarket quiche warmed up and you want to pay £16 for it with re-fried chips! Window was held open by a block of wood! Bed was very rock and roll!”
