「We stayed in one of the Lodges. Very clean and well equipped. Plenty of tea and coffee supplies (decent quality not cheap), a great supply of Borders biscuits, and cleaning equipment including tablets for the dishwasher. Only problem was one of the bathrooms didn’t have a lock on the door. Our booking stated check out is 11:00 however the checkout for lodges is 10:00 with no opportunity to request a late checkout. We took a fan with us as wasn’t sure how hot the lodge would be but it was...

We had a lovely evening meal although we decided to eat out on the terrace and not in the restaurant due to the glorious weather. Couldn't fault the hotel at all. Would not hesitate to stay again.」

「The location was very good. The double room booked was very small with a smaller than average double bed. Most disappointing was the very stained and dirty looking carpet. The bedding and towels were good quality and the new bathroom was nice with a good hot shower. The carpet spoiled the whole experience for me」

「The staff was great, but the property needs some work. Our “bay view” was covered by scaffolding and absolutely filthy windows. Carpets were really shabby and the floorboards all creaked and were lumpy. 」

「Stayed in room 12A which had a nice view over the sea. Room was clean and modern - no a/c but a powerful fan had been placed in the room before arrival and the windows opened. Each member of staff was cheerful, polite and helpful. Breakfast was nice and value for money.」

The principal negatives were the noise (our suite overlooked the main road) and the very spasmodic Wi-Fi. At this price point it was disappointing.」
