“Camp Deforest was such a wonderful stay! The cabins are beautifully maintained with so much attention to detail, making everything feel cozy, clean, and welcoming. The staff was absolutely awesome, friendly, helpful, and truly made the experience even better. Plus, it’s so close to beautiful Camden, one of the prettiest towns in Maine. While you’re there, Fanny’s Bistro, Fresh and Co is a must-visits for amazing food, and don’t leave without stopping by River Ducks Ice Cream for the perfect……

“The room was huge and quaint. Two chairs were placed in front of the picture window looking out on the harbor. The Inn also provided binoculars. The bed was very comfortable. My husband, especially, enjoyed spending time on the downstairs deck making friends and sharing travel tips. Received messages from staff asking if we needed anything. They provided ice cubes promptly. The check-in process was awkward. I had to keep going back to e-mails and to the website to figure how to get……

“The main problem during our stay was the noise. The walls are extremely thin — we could hear everything, even the people in the next room using their microwave. We were placed between two rooms that seemed to be traveling together, and they partied and slammed their doors throughout the night. By 3 AM, we had to ask them to quiet down. I even have video of how loud it was. It’s also evident that the hotel is aware of the noise issue, as there are white noise machines already placed in the……

“Location of the hotel is in downtown of Camden, just a few steps from all the stores and restaurants. Lovely little garden and a place to sit at night in the backyard with fire pit to make s’more -all ingredients provided by the hotel. Breakfast was great. Highly recommend Riverhouse hotel if you stop by Camden.”

“I think my communication issues may have been on the Expedia side of things and have little to do with the host. I had a hard time navigating to leave a message and the only messages I received were sent in February, months before my May attempts to communicate. The messages I did read from Feb were hard to access and appeared in faded gray color font with copy and paste nearly unreachable as printing was off the screen of my iPhone. Note to host would be to have an extra roll of TP and……

“The room was fairly clean, but I did find a piece of clothing left by a past guest, so I don’t think they are incredibly thorough.”

“Whitehall is an old lodge a few blocks from the center of Camden. Road noise can be heard from Route 1, which passes directly in front. Our room was on the ground level and the sound of people walking in the room overhead was an annoying. The common areas are spacious. The breakfast room would seat 100 people, but we were the only people having breakfast. The breakfast was weird, and we had only a tasteless croissant, an orange and coffee. We should have gone into town for those blueberry……
