It's ok
It's a great location for us, and waking up on the Cumberland is awesome and the owner is really really easy to deal with. But, the main floor bathroom couldn't be used as a shower (we didn't ask to resolve, just dealt with it). The beds on the main floor and the basement were REALLY bad for sleeping with a couple (not a size issue though they are small for a couple, but they're just really old and bounce EXCESSIVELY continually waking up) and the furnace makes a HORRENDOUS noise all day, that if you sleep on the lower floor it'll wake you up every 10minutes, if the rickety bed doesn't. It was just a lot of money to not sleep for three days. If not for the owner being really responsive to issues, this would be lower.

We came down to ride 4 wheelers at OHV Turkey Bay and the house was great distance to park and the safety of being able to leave our trailer to go into town was nice! Amazing views from house of the lake beautiful deck wigh grill and seating. Washer & dryer access is a BONUS!

Getaway for friends
We had a very comfortable stay. Kitchen had all the useful pieces for cooking in. House was very clean. Lake water was clean and refreshing to swim in. Views were lovely from the porch. We picked very well for a house at the lake. Sunsets were awesome. We rented kayaks. Everything worked out well. We visited the local coffee shop in Cadiz too!

Quick Weekend Getaway
My son and his wife met my husband and I for a quick weekend getaway. It was perfect halfway point. This A-Frame house provided a nice cozy getaway. Parking was adequate for a number of vehicles, the house was clean, it was great being able to rent a pontoon thru the owner, who was very attentive and even told my husband we could put our paddleboards in off his boat dock and the views were spectacular at sunset. Nothing flashy, but a great stay.

A great family get together
Comfortable family get together. We considering doing again next year. Possibly with my daughter and grandkids. Beautiful views. My personal favorite was the dining nook off the kitchen.

Cozy A-Frame on Barkley Lake
This A-Frame house was a nice cozy stay for our group of 5. Parking was adequate for a number of vehicles, the porch and house were clean, and the views were spectacular at sunset. Nothing flashy, but a great stay.

So Quiet and a awesome view of the lake and the lit bridge..
If your looking for a awesome owner and cool house with a huge deck to stay in …This is the one! We stayed here ten days and went to a few Amish produce places ( oak ridge Amish grocery and freezer ) Cadiz flea market, and the antique stores (one has a awesome ice cream shop CADIZ Antique Mall) in town are cool also. Don’t forget to hit Cadiz family restaurant…cheap and awesome country buffet; or ordered food and desserts.. A short drive to the TN /KY border and go see the Homeplace 1850s Working Farm and Living History Museum Then head to Patti's 1880's Settlement there’s cool shops and even a see saw and put put golf Then on the way home or another day hit the antique stores … head west thru the lakes, head up around to the north of lake and then back home to Cadiz thru the national park between the lakes.. pretty cool drive Lots of cool history…see who can find the oldest item… The elk and bison drive thru was well worth the five dollars…also saw turkeys. Enjoy your stay …we did!

The cabin had some issues! The air conditioner is too small to cool the house! The washing machine.
The property needs some power washing and cleaning! The dead mayflowers were all over the bottom and top decks we couldn’t enjoy sitting outside! Couldn’t enjoy the place it was too hot

Perfect Weekend With Family
First of all the location was larger than it appeared in the pictures. I were excited about this and the location as well as many little extras I did not expect. Outdoor areas are beautiful. Everything was very clean ( not always been my experience with VRBO) so that was wonderful. It was quiet and peaceful, lots to do in the area and for the price we were absolutely thrilled. We were 100% Satisfied.

I loved everything about this place. It felt like home and I didn’t want to leave. Just sitting on the decks and listening to the water was so relaxing. For it being am A frame, it was quite spacious. The only thing I would add to this place would be better internet and a toaster. Other than that, we were extremely pleased. I will be booking again.

We only stayed for overnights here... but the detail, cleanliness, and warm "fuzzy" feelings filled my heart. A definite must stay!!! (Unless you don't like spiral staircases) ❤️

The house was beautiful and had a great view, but tbe beds were not good at all. The deck needs ti be fixed in a couple places and had nails sticking up. Over all we had a good time even though after labor day all the beachs are closed and they drop the water level so that boating is a challenge. I will be back during the summer for sure.

Great place to stay for a relaxing time
We were looking for a quiet location on the lake and we found it here. It’s a cute ‘A’ frame with a spectacular view of the lake. We brought our kayaks and thoroughly enjoyed the calm water. The deck was awesome but be sure to bring some Yard Guard with you. Host was attentive when needed. Grilled out every night on the deck. Would love to come again.

Nice Pace!
This isn’t a fancy cabin, but it is clean and has great decks and views. Some updates have been made, and I imagine others are planned. There were plenty of linens,, and there are new pots, pans, and dishes. The living room is a good hangout spot, if you can make yourself leave the great deck! The TV is very nice, but the internet is slow. We rented one of the pontoon boats for a day, and had a wonderful time.

The original property was unavailable due to a medical issue of the owner, prayers being said. The property manager quickly set us up in a different location that was excellent. I will be at one of these locations in the future for another quick get away.

This house was beautiful.. everything you could need was there.... no issues .... every evening we saw wildlife in the yard and a view that to say is beautiful, is an understatement.. we will definitely be back next year. We also rented the pontoon.. the boat was clean and in great shape..

Awesome weekend!
The architecture and furnishings of this unique house have a Frank Lloyd Wright feel and the decor is quite eclectic. Bring your binoculars to take full advantage of all the bird and wildlife watching available from the top deck. We thoroughly enjoyed reading the history of the area provided in a folder in the kitchen including the transcript of a 19th century journal of a woman who lived in the area. The hotel she often visited that was built 200+ years ago is still there and now owned by a nice man who met us on our walk and shared more history of the area. A pavilion sits in the spot of the original church next to a modern church building with beautiful bells we enjoyed on Sunday morning as we drank coffee and watched birds. Don’t miss the elk and bison preserve, visitors’ center with planetarium. and 1850s homestead farm that are a short drive away.

Sibling Weekend at Lake Barkley
Online listing was not accurate. New gas grill, was not hooked up and could not be used. All kinds of electrical switch issues. No instructions on what was expected on checkout. No instruction on how to lock front door when leaving. Lots of little "handyman" chores need to be completed. Lucas was quick with his response time to our immediate needs. Experience here with this beautiful home and location was just not up to par with our rentals from homeway in the past. Hope these small things can be taken care of for future guests. As for the decks, AWESOME!!!
