I made a mistake in my first review saying there were extra charges. I misunderstood this was a tax I had to pay not an extra charge. The room was huge, really spacious with surrounding areas (own entrance, front door, marble stairs up, landing area with sofa, bathroom) making it more like a flat. The style old, authentic Italian. My only problem was noise in the surrounding area at night but this is being sorted as I write. The owners were not aware as they do not live in the hotel.Very friendly, helpful owners, a family run business.

Sehr nette kleine Pension in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Fußgängerzone und dem Botanischen Garten. Zum Bahnhof 15 Minuten entspannt zu Fuß. Die durch die Inhaber geführte Unterkunft bietet zudem ein super einheimisches Frühstück aus eigenem Anbau bzw. eigener Herrstellung (Marmelade, Brot, Kuchen, Obst). Gemütliche Zimmer, etwas verwinkelt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Schönes Guesthouse am Rand der Altstadt

Wir kamen viel früher an als angekündigt und konnten trotzdem direkt ins Zimmer. Silvia, die Inhaberin des Guesthouses, begrüßte uns herzlich, führte uns ins Zimmer, kontrollierte noch einmal ob alles in Ordnung ist und gab uns anschließend noch viele Tipps für Sehenswürdigkeiten und schöne Strandabschnitte. Das Guesthouse liegt etwas versteckt auf dem Hinterhof eines Wohnkomplexes, dafür ist es wirklich sehr ruhig. Die Zimmer sind super sauber, allerdings etwas altbacken mit dunklem Holz eingerichtet. Auch das Bad war sehr sauber. Es gibt einen Fernseher, einen Kühlschrank mit Getränken, ein gemütliches Bett und eine Klimaanlage. Das Ehepaar, welches nebenan wohnt, ist sehr herzlich, empfängt jeden persönlich und bereitet täglich für die Gäste das Frühstück zu. Die Parksituation ist eine kleine Herausforderung. Auf dem Hinterhof des Guesthouses darf man nicht parken und an der Straße ist immer ziemlich viel los, da man sich direkt am Rande der Altstadt befindet. Trotzdem würden wir jederzeit wiederkommen!

Cozy and relaxing

It was very comfortable and cosy. All the rooms have individual character and nice wooden furniture. Breakfast includes homemade yogurt, homemade bread and homemade jam. The owners are wonderful.

Plus proche de la maison d'hôte que de l'hôtel. Accueil agréable malgré l'heure tardive: notre avion avait 75 min de retard et nous sommes arrivés presqu'à à une heure du matin. Nous avions pour nous seuls une partie d'étage avec salle de bain sur la palier. Chambre très jolie avec vieilles poutres et déco assortie. TRè bon rapport qualité prix

Hübsche, kleine Unterkunft mitten in Cagliari

Vorab: Uns hat die Unterkunft sehr überzeugt und wir würden sie jedem weiterempfehlen! Lob an die Besitzer :) Die Unterkunft liegt zentral in Cagliari, Hafen, Bahnhof, Restaurants, Busbahnhof und ein kleiner Supermarkt sind in unter 5 Gehminuten zu erreichen. Mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln können verschiedene Strände erreicht werden. Am einfachsten Cagliaris Hausstrand (Poetto) in ca. 15 Minuten. Die Lage ist insofern optimal, da man tagsüber den Strand genießen und sich trotzdem abends problemlos ins Nachtleben in der Innenstadt werfen kann. Wir können dies nur empfehlen! Die Unterkunft als solches ist klein, aber hübsch eingerichtet und wird liebevoll von einer Familie geführt. Vier kleine Zimmer, angeordnet um eine kleine Küche, erwecken schon fast den Eindruck man verreise mit AirBnB. Man hat aber dabei Vorteile eines normalen Hotels, wie z.B einer Minibar und einer Klimaanlage. Gegen einen kleinen Aufpreis kann man ein Frühstück dazu buchen. Dies war für uns fast ein Highlight, da der Besitzer selbst das Frühstück (köstlich und das meiste selbst hergestellt) serviert und dabei viele Kleinigkeiten über die Insel erzählt. Er gibt auch gerne Tipps zur Tagesgestaltung, etc. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen.

Very niice hidden hotel in downtown Cagliari

When we arrived at night we were a little scared, the entrance looked like a kind of car repair workshop; but then the hotel, hidden at the end of a corridor, was a very nice surprise. The staff is really wonderful and they know a lot about Sardegna; it was our honeymoon and they gave us a gift (a little bell). It is a great option for Cagliari, relaxed, and really close to downtown. The name of the hotel is absolutely adequate.

Very welcoming host

In a lively old part of Cagliari. We had a suite, very spacious, house well renovated. The host was waiting for us, gave us a tour and was very attentive to our needs.

Nice little place to stay at for a few days

Great little place to stay for a few days. Clean, tidy, good air conditioning and nicely decorated. However slightly pricey for a B&B for which you still have to pay for breakfast. New toiletries and change of towels would have been aprreciated for a 4-night stay, but this is a minor negative point. The location of Il Giardino Segreto is perfect, being a couple of minutes walk away from the Castelo District, the Marina Disctrict, and the botanical garden. Very close to the train station, and the bus/coach station for day trips. Great lively bars nearby, but you cannot hear a thing, the hotel is located at the back of a small alley way.

Great Room in a Perfect Location

We really enjoyed our stay in Cagliari. The room was fantastic with high wooden beams and a small balcony. It really felt like an authentic old Italian room. Breakfast was simple but with home made cake and bread, was perfect, The staff were friendly and accommodating, The toilet was a little noisy, but apart from that, it was perfect. The area was full of small shops/bars/restaurants, walking distance to all main tourist sites, Even though the street was busy, the room was quiet and very comfortable.
