「The room was not serviced on two days out of four - the reason given was that the housekeeper did not work those days. The restaurant was closed for evening meals at short notice. The entrance door was closed and locked early in the evening and my keys did not work on occasions.」

「A unique Scottish hotel that is in the process of being renovated. Food was good and staff friendly, though reception appeared to be unstaffed. My room was one of the older ones so the renovation will be a big benefit but overall the hotel was great value and much better than an anonymous generic chain hotel.」

「A great one night stay on my way up to Scotland. Fabulous hospitality and made to feel very welcome. Had a peaceful night's sleep. Janice cooks a mean omelette for breakfast and enjoyed my packed lunch. Lovely estuary walking and lots of nature reserves in the area. Would stay again if in the area.」

「Dianne went out of her way to be helpful at all steps of our stay. Great parking facilities, great shower, comfy bed. Everything needed was provided and well thought through. We were able to arrange to collect the keys early as we were due at a wedding and Dianne went out of her way to help us arrange a taxi booking to and from the venue nearby. Breakfast was varied and plentiful.」

「This was a charming place to stay. There were sheep in the field outside our window. There were cookies and tea things in our room. There was a nice common room/library with lots of maps and guide books. We had a delicious full Scottish breakfast in the morning. We'd love to stay there again!」

「Beautiful place, near busy junction only downfall but was quite tbh with windows closed. Other room noise- none at all. Shops across the street and dominos. Food was banging i had liver and onions, good prices. If staying in area for work, great stay! Could do with pint of milk in room as making your cereal from satchet milk is hard work lol. Deffo recommend for work.」

「Some people were born to host. Maurice & Laureen have created a very special B&B experience for anyone lucky enough to stay. It feels more like a boutique 5* hotel with attention to detail and luxury furnishings. The highlight of my stay was the beautiful breakfast of refreshing creamy pot with fruit compote, followed by muffin with perfectly poached eggs, spinach, homemade hollandaise sauce, chives and roast tomatoes. 「Room was fine, tea and coffee wasn't very nice and no complementary biscuits. No magnifying mirror in the bathroom. States Brompton however 8 miles away. Bed was really uncomfortable. Evening meal was nice, 10% surcharge on you bill! Wine expenses! Breakfast was so so. Waited a long time for someone to come to the checkin fest on arrival and departure. Probably would try an alternative hotel 」
