The Stable, Preston, Kent
- The Stable is a beautifully converted farm building set within the peaceful grounds of Parsonage Farm in the village of Preston, just a short drive from the mediaeval town of Sandwich and famous Cathedral city of Canterbury. Once home to working horses, donkeys and their farm-hands, The Stable has now been thoughtfully restored to offer a light, comfortable and welcoming retreat for couples. Inside, the property is well presented with a lovely mix of character features and modern comforts. The classic oak stable door opens into a spacious ground-floor living area with comfortable seating and a smart TV, while upstairs you’ll find a generous bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The kitchen is well equipped with Denby crockery and everything else you may during your stay. The private patio enjoys the afternoon and evening sun, making it perfect for a relaxed drink after a day exploring. Preston is a charming rural village with a popular pub, butchers and local shop, and the surrounding countryside offers wonderful walking. One well behaved dog is very welcome too.

A light and comfortable sitting space with sofa and armchair, Smart TV and Wi-Fi. Ground-level window under the stairs creates a small nook ideal for a dog bed.

Kitchen equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, dishwasher and fridge/freezer filled with a locally sourced Welcome Pack.
Patio
Private patio with outdoor seating, west-facing for afternoon and evening sun.
Parking
Private parking immediately outside the property.
First floor
Bedroom - sleeps 2
King size bed, Graham & Brown bedding, non-allergenic duvet and pillows, hanging space and hairdryer.
En-suite Shower Room
Walk-in shower, WC and basin. Egyptian cotton towels and toiletries provided.

Please note check out is 10am. Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests.
Smoking is not permitted in the property at any time.
For insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
Parties and loud music are not permitted.

Wonderful place, wonderful hosts!
We had such a brilliant stay at the stables. Lovely place that was private, cosy and very well looked after. The owner is a very sweet lady that left us some local honey, sausages and bacon as well as bread and milk ❤️❤️❤️ such a fantastic welcome. Highly recommend!

A lovely peaceful stay in the country
It’s our second trip back to Parsonage Farm and it didn’t disappoint, we benefitted from glorious weather so really made the most of the outdoor seating area. The location is great for us as the cycle routes around are very good and the owners left us the shed key so we could store bikes and golf clubs easily. I’m sure we will be back for a third visit.

Perfect base for the two of us for our stay in east Kent. Our hosts were most welcoming and informative and went out of their way to help. Lovely welcome pack meant we wouldn't have needed to shop for breakfast. Highly recommended.

The Stable
The Stable has been converted into a lovely place to stay. Everything has been done to a very high standard and there is attention to detail throughout. The welcome pack containing local produce, including homemade bread and honey was no exception. Lisa and George were welcoming and informative.

The Stable, Preston
Our two-night stay at this Preston property proved to be a wonderfully relaxing retreat. The village's peaceful atmosphere immediately set a welcoming tone, and we appreciated the tranquil surroundings throughout our visit.
A short walk from the accommodation brings you to St Mildred's Church, which provided the perfect setting for enjoyable dog walks during our stay. The countryside surrounding the church is beautiful and genuinely rewarding to explore with your canine companion.
The owners have clearly thought carefully about their guests' comfort. Upon arrival, we were delighted to find a welcome basket containing homemade honey produced on-site, dog treats, fresh bread, bacon and local apple juice—a thoughtful touch that felt genuinely personal.
The property itself is impressive. The conversion of the historic parsonage outbuildings has been executed to a high standard, combining period charm with modern comfort and quality finishing. Secure car parking within the grounds provided additional peace of mind during our stay.
The owners' evident care in creating a warm, welcoming environment—from the personalised welcome basket to the dog-friendly location—makes this an excellent choice for anyone seeking a peaceful village retreat with outstanding amenities for those with our without a dog.
