“Our stay at the jungle villas exceeded every expectation. The views were incredible, the villas were spacious, and the location and amenities made for the perfect family getaway. Our kids loved spending time in the pool, playing the outdoor games, enjoying the on-site restaurant, and seeing monkeys, sloths, and other wildlife right on the property. “We loved our stay at this property. It was beautiful and well maintained. The family that owned the property were really friendly and cooked a full breakfast for us each morning. We loved how quiet the property was, the jacuzzi, and all the wildlife around our bungalow. The only somewhat concerning thing for me was the full glass wall in the bathroom, but I was able to work around it and find ways to have some privacy.”

“There are 2 parts to this review. First the property is amazing, set in beautiful grounds with clearly marked trails and lots of birds and wildlife. All the staff are really helpful and clearly passionate about the location they work in. We did the onsite night walk and saw lots of animals including sloths, agouti, kinkajou and porcupine, alongside frogs and beautiful birds. The restaurant serves produce from the farm of good quality (although options are limited). What lets it down are the……

“The worst place we have ever been. The room was dirty, there were water leaks, cracked walls and floors, broken windows, rusty faucets. It rained the whole night and we could hear the loud noise of the water falling on the tin roof. We had a reservation for four nights and stayed just one, after agreement with the director of paying for one night getting the rest of our money our money back. This never happened. We have been calling them for two months now and they just give bad excuses. Staff……

“Lovely self sustaining eco resort in the midst of the forest. We loved the food, the coziness of the cabin, the yoga classes, and wandering around the property. The farm tour and the night tour were fun activities to do with a 4 year old. We did not like: occasional smell of sewage around the property, especially around the pools. Dated bathrooms in cabins - needs a refresh. Construction noise around the property. ”

“The Retreat is gorgeous. The views of the Volcano and Lake are amazing. The pescatarian menu is perfect for vegetarians and pescatarians. All three meals are served. We did not have meals included but very much enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. The pocket sized gathering places are charming - slider over looking lake, dining room and reception, the separate lounge area with tea and coffee looking into the jungle. The evening walk was fun. “Beautiful and intimate, Vida Mountain is a sanctuary tucked away from the noise of the nearest city. The food is spectacular and provide a wide variety of options for anyone. Bernice is a fabulous person and she runs this resort with great care and attention, while also respecting people’s quiet and solitude. “Schönes Zelt mitten im Regenwald. Die Anfahrt war allerdings etwas anstrengend. Deshalb sind wir auch beide Tage dort geblieben und haben vor Ort Wanderungen gemacht oder waren am Pool. Der ist klein, aber sehr hübsch angelegt. Frühstück und Abendessen waren sehr gut. Wifi nur im Hauptgebäude. ”
