Great photo op...climb to the top!
This is Captree State Park in Long Island New York. I’ve come here several times over the years to go fishing and crabbing. Loaded with work, It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve had the opportunity to add to this personal project and I was itching to go out and shoot again. So I set out for this location, 20 minutes from home. The cloud formations were spectacular and I could envision an epic sunset shot. I had planned to arrive a few hours early, set up my composition and wait. However, as soon as I arrived, I was shocked at the amount of mosquitoes swarming around. It was biblical! I had no more than 5 minutes to get this image and I just had to leave. I originally did not want to post this image as I knew it was not my best work. It was not the shot I wanted to get. But then I remembered, I also shoot and post to remind me of what was going on in the moment. So here it is.

It’s a beautiful property where the rooms are kept very clean. The bar and restaurant are terrific. The bar was opened until 1am on the weekends. I had a very nice stay. It was very clean and welcoming. Also easy to find if you are ubering or having someone pick you up. I had some travel issues and the host was very accommodating and adjusted my stay as I needed. I loved it and would definitely stay again!
