Turret, Irthington is one of 6 holiday cottages in a quiet location that is steeped in history; imagine having Hadrian's Wall as your neighbour! The former barns have been lovingly converted to provide 1 and 2 bedroom cottages, named after key points from the World Heritage site on the Roman Wall the cottages are furnished and equipped to provide a welcoming ambience on your return after a days exploring. Those with an interest in history will delight at the easy access, via a private path, to Hadrian's Wall, tread in the footsteps of the soldiers until you reach one of the many forts where you can explore the archaeological digs and visit the museums to learn about a bygone era. Close by you will also find Lanercost Priory, the old ruins are waiting to be discovered, or simply relax and enjoy brunch in the café. The Lake District Airport is a few minutes drive away, as is the Solway Aviation Museum which is a great day out for young and old who have an interest in flying. Surrounded by farm land means wildlife can regularly be spotted including deer, foxes and pheasants as well as the more domesticated farm animals of sheep and cows.
Turret is on the first floor with a private patio and BBQ.
The open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area is equipped with leather sofa and TV. Kitchen area has an electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. Double bedroom with TV. Bathroom with a shower over bath and hand basin.
All electric, bed linen and towels provided. Private parking for 1 car. Private patio area with dining furniture and BBQ. Please note this cottage is not big enough for a cot. Shared drying room with washing machines, tumble driers, freezer and space to dry walking gear and storage for bikes.
