"Stayed on the island, particpated in the Core Sound Race. The house was so cozy and perfectly located for our needs. Visiting Cape Lookout was a great adventure. Can't wait to come back."

"Really liked the size and level of upkeep. Great location. Did not like the adjacent boat building warehouse which was damaged by tornado in 2024 but left unrepaired. Loose metal roof sheets threatening to blow loose dampened time outside. The adjacent restaurant is a major reason to stay here with great food and atmosphere. Love Harkers for a non-beach coastal environment with Cape Lookout and local museums of decoys and down east communities. "

Peaceful Getaway

"Our recent stay was absolutely wonderful! The home is clean, cozy, and thoughtfully maintained. We especially loved the peaceful setting and the stunning view of the sound. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The fishing and crabbing right from the dock was excellent, making the trip even more enjoyable. The owner was kind, responsive, and made sure everything was just right. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would happily return again!"

"We’ve been visiting since 2020. I think this is our 4th stay. It’s close to what we need, cozy, clean, and the owners are the best! Our second time bringing our boat. We look forward to next time and couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else."

"Kate was so nice and helpful when we checked in! Our room was upgraded at no extra charge, our room was spacious, comfy, and clean. We were in Oriental for a wedding, had never been to the area before, and Kate even offered to give us a ride home from the wedding. Could not have asked for a better stay!"

Nice quite area

"This was our second vacation here. It a beautiful quite area. The front porch early morning with coffee is so relaxing . Theres a down stairs bedroom. Perfect for those don't want to climb the stairs lol. The back deck is great for grilling. Threres a washer and dryer so you canwash out swim suits after a day at the beach ."
