This was so beautiful and peaceful. We slept with the doors open to the sound of the sea. We read novels on the veranda watching the water. We used the pool to cool off and get sun. The kitchen was fully stocked so we cooked most nights. Driving on the left was no problem so we explored the island… but we kept heading back to the house because it was the best place to be. Alison was terrific.

The property was gorgeous, and the accommodations were very clean and comfortable. The experience was perfect, and the host was extremely knowledgeable and helpful! Unfortunately, the sargassum came in earlier than expected so we were unable to use the private beach to swim but still able to sit outside and enjoy the island breeze. There were plenty of other beaches in close proximity to enjoy and we thoroughly encourage others to make sure they do a trip to Buck Island. My daughter and I snorkeled the barrier reef and it was unbelievable!! We will definitely be back!!!!

Perfect piece of paradise!

We checked in the the cottage for the second half of our trip to St. Croix. The communication with Alison was excellent! She was very helpful with all sorts of recommendations regarding our stay on St. Croix. The cottage was perfect! All that the 2 of us needed! We enjoyed coffee on the porch with the beautiful ocean view and soaking up the sun on the secluded beach. It was quiet and private at the cottage. We spotted ifuanas and mongoose along the property which was fun! We spent most of our time snorkeling on the west end-the pier and Dorsch were good. Cane bay was nice. Trip to Buck Island was great! Highly recommend! St.Croix was lovely! Not very populated and clean. Staying here at the cottage was a dream and we will certainly be back! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

5 stars isn't enough

This property was all we could have hoped for. Adorable, completely private little bungalow with a true Caribbean feel. Great porch for relaxing and enjoying the gentle ocean breezes. Beautiful shallow beach just steps away. Great plunge pool complete with iguana. Lots of snorkeling equipment available. We loved our time on St. Croix and wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else.

Cut it short due to Bed Bugs!!

The biggest selling point of this property is the view—it was truly impressive. However, the listing's cover photo was misleading, featuring a different side of the property. Inside, the furniture was outdated and worn. The "couch" was a small patio wicker loveseat with flat, worn-out cushions, making it uncomfortable.For a 10-day stay, we were given only three towels, and there was no washer or dryer. The host stated we could request more, and when we did, she had someone bring them. However, the owner was not on the island, and her contact person had another job, making it inconvenient to get help.The worst part was the bites. The first night, I woke up with painful welts and blisters. Initially, I thought they were mosquito bites, but they aligned with bed bug bites. The mattress was extremely old. My husband didn’t think he was affected at first, but by our last night, he started itching and woke up covered in bites.We immediately informed the host, booked another hotel, and left on day four. Instead of addressing the issue, she became defensive and falsely accused us of smoking marijuana. I was literally spraying off on my body at night because I didn't know what was biting me. This place is not what it seems—proceed with caution

Precious cottage, just perfect for two

From the first communication with Alison, to the last sunrise view from the bed, this property impressed me. I wanted privacy for our 30th anniversary trip and that’s exactly what we got! The property is well maintained and has everything needed for a quiet stay, whether you just want to hole up and away in a hammock in the palms. Or if you need a landing pad to explore the island. Opening the doors and windows to enjoy the ocean breeze is a treat! We will absolutely be back!

Anniversary stay

Beautiful location right on the beach. We were able to use the pool and the outdoor patio at the adjacent guest house. Weather was perfect, with the breeze constantly blowing in off the ocean. It was the perfect getaway for us, just to relax and soak in the sun.

Pretty as the pictures!

We absolutely loved our stay...completely relaxing. Constant breeze and the noise of the waves was amazing! We had a couple questions and Alison was very prompt in answering. We also had a mechanical problem, and she had a repair guy there to resolve the issue within hours. The casino across the street is a non-factor, as others have said. We loved finding different places to eat, swim, and snorkle. We used the plunge pool every day, twice a day...so refreshing! It's on the east end (which we chose on purpose), away from the more touristy areas, but lots of adventurous, unique, and quirky things to do. Or just do nothing and chill!!!

Lovely cottage and unbeatable oceanfront view

The cottage is just as lovely as the ad appears. The breeze off the ocean is so calming with a nice breeze. Beautiful location if you prefer to be out of the hustle and bustle and in a more scenic area of the island. The small casino is directly across the street but it has minimal traffic and we never heard any noise from the casino. Would recommend and would stay again if/when we go back to St Croix.

Paradise

This was the perfect place for us for our winter getaway to St. Croix. The ocean views are amazing, beautiful sunrises, and sleeping with the ocean breeze on our faces was so tranquil. The cottage is private and charming and had everything we needed. There are plenty of restaurants and adventures nearby. We did some snorkeling, kayaking, and lots of hiking. Our host, Alison, was very responsive, cheerful, and helpful, especially as we needed to change our travel plans due to our weather at home. We would certainly return!

Beachfront Cottage

The view of beach/water from the cottage is amazing. We only saw 3-4 people walking each day. Unfortunately there is a lot of seaweed and trash that washes up on that stretch of beach. The gated access made it feel very private even with a casino across the street and a hotel next door. We only heard loud music two nights, but they shut it down relatively early. The cottage and main house need some TLC, but the cottage itself was clean and relaxing. There is no washer or dryer, so we had to wash towels, linens, swimsuits, etc. in kitchen sink. We did not use the pool—it was very dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned in quite sometime.
