Centrally located. Clean, cozy rooms with small kitchenette and sitting space. Stairs are required as in most European hotels. Very friendly, helpful staff. Really enjoyed our stay. Coimbra was approachable and lovely.

Location was centrally located to the main tourist areas and relatively close (20 min walk) to the train station. The room was quite clean except for the some cobwebs dangling above the bed. The bed linens were very soft and of higher quality. Use of kitchen was limited since no paper towel, cleaning cloth, or cooking oil was provided. Also the non stick pan was unusable due to the deep scratches. Curtains would have provided more privacy while allowing some light through the windows. I never received check-in instructions 24hrs before arrival and had to contact them first by messaging and then by phone.

Sofia Studios was great value considering the incredible central location it has in Coimbra. It was exceptionally clean and very easy to check in to. Staff are on hand during the day and are very helpful. Our only criticism is that he bathroom is really small with almost no counter space. As well, it's a lot of stairs to the third floor! Normally that wouldn't be a factor for us - and it was completely as advertised - but my wife sprained her knee earlier in our Portugal trip. For anybody with mobility issues, try to request the first floor (and even then there's two flights of stairs).

Great location. Room is very modern with a full kitchen. Comfortable firm mattress. Many restaurants and shopping just steps away on the flatter areas near the river. Bus stop right around the corner that goes to the train station in 10 minutes. Very safe area. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. In the flat part of the city so no hills to climb to get to the property (much of the city is hilly). Daily housekeeping if desired. Bank with ATM right on the corner. Lots of hot water and the most water pressure we’ve ever had at a hotel. Ask for a room away from the noise of the street (but largest rooms face the street). Not enough electrical outlets for lamps and charging devices you bring. No elevator. Uber drivers said they could not drive down the street to pick us up so we never figured out the best place to catch Uber near the property. Apparently only buses and service vehicles allowed on the hotel street. Police station right around the corner. Police presence almost always monitoring the vehicle traffic at the corner

Very nice room, well appointed and centrally located. However, room overlooked a busy street with noise from traffic and pedestrians. Perhaps more efficient windows would help some?
