「The view was wonderful, and the staff was very helpful. There was a smoky odor in the room, either from the fireplaces in the other units or from the firepit outside. The floor plan of the bathroom in the third-floor room was odd. The open door blocked the sink. We had a little trouble figuring out the A/C controls, so the room was a little too warm. We greatly appreciated the free EV charging stations. They were never ICEd while we were there. We underestimated how tiring the 32 stair steps...

「Property has no elevator. I am 80 y/o not 18. Your advertising should reflect that and/or give choice of ground floor accommodations. Shower had no grab bars. I realize a shower surround presents some problems in installation but not unsolvable. We put men on the moon some 58 years ago. Grab or assist bars on a shower surround should be attainable.」

「We enjoyed our stay at the Cascade Lodge! We loved the close proximity to Lake Superior and their private shoreline! We also ate at the restaurant and it was great-food and staff friendliness! There was even live music on the night we were there.」

「Staff was great, our room didn’t have a remote so they had to bring us a new tv and the heat lamp in the bathroom wouldn’t shut off.. there was also beard hairs in the bathroom sink from previous guests and change lost in the bed so not sure how good the cleaners do. Overall, I would stay there again!」

「Clean but very outdated. Leaky bathtub faucet and the bathtub and sink did not drain quick enough so filled with water. Overhead lights did not turn on. Carpet was clearly very old and windows were either missing screens or tricky to open. Bed was comfortable. Staff was nice. Breakfast was simple but was enough.」

「Clean hotel right on the water! We enjoyed the popcorn maker in the lobby and coffee and tea in the morning. Friendly staff. Walkable to everywhere in town! Great spot!」

「This is one of my favorite places to stay on the north shore. Pet friendly, great service, clean room, helpful staff. The motel rooms have a little kitchenette with dishes and a two burner cook stove. Very quaint. There is a dry sauna in the main lodge. You can walk down to look at Lake Superior. Hopefully the new owners don’t change the motel rooms they are affordable and comfortable.」

「We got emails from the property in the days leading up to our stay and were unable to open them, so we were thankful they still had our room when we got there. We asked for a room with a bed and sofa bed - the sofa bed was very comfortable, but they didn't leave appropriate bed clothes for it so we had to improvise a bit. Lovely room. Great kitchen. Great location.」

「We really enjoyed our weekend here. Quiet and secluded, but still very close to Grand Marais. A path just outside accesses a whole network of trails, we hiked to Pincushion Mountain. And the SHT connects here as well if you want to go further. The furnishings are simple in a very nice way; a folding table with two folding chairs, an electric kettle and a mini fridge are great for morning coffee or simple meals. The only thing we would have changed would be trading the two twin beds for a single...
