Trapper Cabin is a hand built, two story, two bedroom log cabin over fifty years old, situated on our 320 acre Alaskan homestead. Both upstairs bedrooms have queen beds with angled ceilings. There is a full bathroom upstairs and a half bath downstairs. The cabin is dog friendly and includes running water, electricity, internet, and a small kitchenette with an electric cooktop. There is no TV, so you can enjoy fresh air, quiet nights, and star filled skies. Rustic comfort in remote Alaska.Wrangell Mountain Homestead was first built in the 1970s by four generations using timber milled on site. After sitting empty for over a decade, our family is restoring it one step at a time. Some areas look worn, rustic, or unfinished because this is a living project, not a polished resort. We did not buy this place to turn it into a luxury getaway. We bought it to save it, and when you stay here, you are part of that story. We are in a truly remote part of Alaska, surrounded by forests, fields, and endless skies. The nearest towns are 30 minutes to Chitina, an hour to Glennallen, 1 hour 45 minutes to Valdez, and 2.5 hours to Kennicott. Just up the road is a small diner and a small grocery store, and the rest is pure nature. Days here can be spent hiking, exploring trails, watching wildlife, or simply soaking in the quiet beauty of the land. You may hear occasional farm or land work, but you will have full access to Trapper Cabin and the grounds. Some areas are private or under repair, so please respect locked rooms and buildings. For a genuine Alaskan stay that is remote, unplugged, and full of history, Trapper Cabin is the perfect base.
