Amazing

I have rented a ton of houses that are nicer, bigger, much more modern. Sure it’s a little dated and slightly run down in some areas, but I don’t think I have ever enjoyed a house I’ve rented more. It’s a charming little cottage right on the ocean. It’s surrounded my multi-million dollar homes and almost looks comical when comparing the neighbors houses. We had maybe 4 groups total on the beach for a hundred yard stretch and not one person within 50 feet of us. The beach is amazing and the views from the house are stunning. Don’t over think this place just book it! We loved it.

beautiful views of the ocean and a very lovely home

It is nice how the owners try to upgrade something every year. It is also a wonderful size for smaller families. We appreciated the multiple room DVRs and the movie channels which came in handy when taking a break from the sun. We hosted other family members and all had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Views are amazing!

The views are amazing but the house itself needs renovating. Several necessary minor repairs gave the house an overall run down feel. On the other hand, the huge picture windows in the great room and the large deck overlooking the ocean made up for what the house was lacking in cleanliness and convenience. We would go back to Corolla but not this house, unfortunately.

Wonderful location

We had a wonderful time during our stay. We saw 2 hurricanes go by with little damage to the property. The rest of the days were fun filled and sunny. Everything you could need for a relaxing vacation was steps away. The house was the perfect size for us and we enjoyed all the decks and watching the sunrise every morning. A perfect oasis!

July 2017 Stay

This is our fourth year at Merry Winds. There is something very special about this place...from its beachfront location right down to its charming interior. Three generations vacation together very comfortably here. The views are magnificent - sunrises over the ocean and sunsets featuring Currituck Lighthouse. Our coffee even tastes better sipped by the ocean. The large upper living space is perfect for kids to play as they look out at the beach below. It is so fun to watch their excitement as planes or dolphins pass on through. The gentle waves of the ocean lull them to sleep. They are able to enjoy full days at the beach with the house being right there (every parent's dream). We love that this house is conveniently located close to the wild horse beaches, Historic Corolla Village, Currituck Lighthouse, the public access pier and Timbuck II (for the shoppers in the house). There is something for everyone. We never run out of things to do. Each year the owners make one improvement to their home.
