The firepit was an amazing hit for making smores, and the grounds were just the ticket for the 4 children to explore and collect "treasures." There was ample room in the home for all 7 of us to live comfortably. The instructions on caring for the home and what to do on departure were clear and easy to accomplish.
The house was also outfitted well, with all the cooking and dining equipment a group our size could need (except we never could find a can opener. It was probably somewhere very obvious).
Compared to other vacation rentals we've stayed in, this one could use a good deep cleaning. While the surfaces were clean, as were the beds and bathrooms, there were some pretty healthy cobwebs on the screens, dirt-stained woodwork, and dusty cupboards inside. Maybe there just hasn't been time to do those things in a busy rental season.
Also, one burner on the cooking range didn't work at all and another was so slanted it was unsafe to use. Lola seemed surprised to hear about that, so maybe that's a new issue. The king bed is VERY soft!
I also, for the first time ever, struggled with how to unlock and relock the front door. Lola is a property manager.
