Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Likes-pools are very warm and clean, beach is very clean and the complimentary chairs are wonderful. Location is perfect. Price was good for what we got. Staff is A++. Dislikes-I thought the unit could be cleaner, kids feet were black going barefoot. We wish more things had been provided such as hand soap to wash hands and salt and pepper. We also had to take the trash out and remove linens before we left, which we pay for so didn’t feel like we should have to do that ourselves Property is a bit dated, in my opinion. Overall I think we’d stay here again.

Perfect stay for a beach vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We wanted a beach vacation that was low key, had easy beach access, plenty of space to relax and was close to shopping and dining. This rental had it all! The unit was ground level- which initially we were reluctant to select (no view of the gulf) however the location and convenience greatly outweighed that fact - and we were ON the beach the majority of the time so we didn’t need just the view! The unit was clean and had all the amenities needed to make simple lunches etc, it was convenient to have groceries delivered to our doorstep and we were set for the week with basic meals and snacks. Beds were comfortable and showers great! And the a/c was perfect and worked very well despite the heat advisory that was happening. It was a nice quick 5ish minute walk to the beach- and when it got too hot- we could go back to the room to cool off. We also appreciated the pool shower being right outside the back sliding door- we could get all the sand off and keep our unit clean. The pool was quiet and relaxing, we even had it to ourselves at one point for about an hour. Great to float and chill there or relax poolside. It was right outside the unit, so convenient!One of the best parts was having free beach service- 2 chairs and an umbrella. Walking from our room to the beach was so easy and convenient, just follow a nicely paved path to the beach gate. Once there we let the beach attendant know our info and we were good to go! We went early each day and had front row seating for the emerald waters and cool white powdery beach! It couldn’t be more perfect!Parking was easy, it is gated with plenty of parking spots. The location of the resort was very easy to access and only about 30 minutes from the airport. The staff at the Islander were all so polite and helpful- we will definitely be returning and have been singing the praises of this perfect spot in Destin to our friends and family!

Great place in a great location

Check in was seamless, grounds well maintained, comfy bed and a super friendly staff. Plenty of things to do around Destin and great food options. All you need for a great vacay!

The only complaint I have is the laundry room was not kept (same left behind clothing stacked in the same place for a week) and more than 1/2 of the washers and dryers were broken. The staff was very friendly and was always helpful.

Gone to the Dogs

The property was clean as far as the condo goes. The laundry room that was shared really smelled badly. The vending machines were in that room as well, the smell ruined any wanting of a snack! There was other visiters that had a large dog that got into the pool with them and stayed with them at the pool. It was a large dog and was intimidating to other guests. This went against all the rules. This was at the East Condo location. THe location was not within walking distance to anything and we had to take a cab everywhere we wanted to go.

The bathroom doors are all tore up at the bottoms like they have been wet, behind the bed side table there was white mold. The room smelt musty when we arrive. Seems like the room has had water damage. I feel like the rules should be more enforced at the pools. We seen lots of smoking cigarettes and pot at the pools and tons of drinking beer in the pools. We stayed with you all last summer and loved it and the unit thats why we came back this year. But this trip has made us very hesitant to stay with you all again.

This place was super clean. So close to the pool and a very short walk to a pristine beach. Absolutely gorgeous water. So clean you can see your feet when you are in water waist deep! Beautiful!!!

It was nice. Not much to do in Destin in end of March, everything was not running yet. It was abnormally cold and windy. We got to see the dolphins everyday though so that made up for it. Will be returning!

We enjoyed our stay. Room was exactly as expected and clean. The pools and hot tubs were nice. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that the lobby had some boards and beach items for the ocean. We had a wonderful stay and the lobby people were always very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back.
