I cannot rave enough about my stay at the Castle! The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food, both dinner and breakfast were superb ( the sea bass at dinner was delicious and the black pudding was to die for!) The room was immaculate and beautiful (we stayed in the Oak Suite). If you can stay there for sure!

Loved the setting and the history. Four poster bed . Must do stay (in a castle in Scotland that dates to 1166).. no elevator. Great spacious room with lots of atmosphere. Lovely restaurant and bar. Would come back.

Beautiful in every way! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and spacious, and the food was excellent. We loved the Green Lady Bar! We chose to attend the ghost tour, which was rich with history of the castle and the permanent residents that reside there. It’s a must stay for those who love comfort, hospitality, and history.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom Mackenzie apartment and it was definitely a large and fairly luxurious room. The claw foot tub in the primary bathroom was a highlight. It's worth a visit if you're looking for something unique and quiet with great views. We had dinner in the dining room, which was quite good, with slightly above average prices. The staff were attentive and present to address any questions or concerns. The only thing I would note is we also booked a 2nd room in the family suite that was for 2 adults and 2 kids, but it only had 1 queen bed and a small twin pullout. Overall, it was a nice stay and fun to experience staying in a Castle in Scotland.

Restaurant food was good but the service was poor. The pricing of the food is bizarre too and I believe we were double charged for our food. The waiter could not adequately explain the pricing and I think we were charged double because we shared appetizers and mains (I think they charged per person even if you shared plates). The rooms are pretty dated too including a stained chair in the room.

Big on atmosphere. You feel like you’re in a Scottish Laird’s castle. But you sacrifice some modern amenities. No elevator means hauling your luggage up the stairs.

This is such a fun little place to stay. The size of the room and onsite bathroom was perfect for us. Very roomy - a nice change from the standard hotel room. Lots of seating and a large soaker tub. The place was easy to find and had great pub food. The staff were so friendly and helpful. There was lots of parking (there are two lots, and the front filled up before we could get there both days, but the side parking lot has a little gate and so it’s not an inconvenience at all. Our room was up several flights of stairs but they were small steps and we had help with the luggage. There are little hidden castle gems everywhere - like skylights that look to turrets. And castle themed sconces. I would absolutely stay here again. It was so very lovely.
