The staff were friendly. It's an old building but very clean. There is whimsy everywhere you turn, which keeps me coming back. The only issue that I've ever had is that the pillows are flat.

We loved our stay there. The first night we played pool, air hockey & checkers. There was a tornado watch in effect, so we spent a lot of time in the lobby watching the tv. Breakfast was good but not hot enough. There was a nice variety though. For it being an older building, our room was impeccably clean. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing after a 3 hour tour of House on the Rock.

This property was the most run down and misrepresented hotel I have ever stayed at. VERY misleading on what it actually is. I can’t believe it is still able to operate from a safety and health standpoint. We had planned to stay three nights but after only one night we bolted and are being denied a refund. Creepy and unsettling is the feeling inside. When checking in the owners and/or staff were just sitting on the couch waiting very strangely and quietly for someone to walk in. At first I thought they were guests as they just stared at me before welcoming me to check in. No uniform or anything that identifies them as associated with the hotel. From the start you could tell it was older and run down but we had no idea what we were about to experience inside of the room. The bathroom was disgusting. Openings in the bottom of the wall where you could see insulation. Cabinet doors were all bolted in very strangely. Found large hole hidden behind a painting that was hug on the wall - in the bathroom! You could see a copper pipe, drywall, and insulation. The door knob to bathroom was so loose it almost fell off when opening door. The wall paper was separating from the wall leaving a unclean gap to the drywall. In the room clear gift wrapping tape was trying to hold on the wall paper around the Greek columns. We could hardly turn the whirlpool on as the handles were so worn. Black specs on bottom and unclear jet pumps. One of the windows even had a broken glass! List goes on!!

Clearly there has never been a fire inspection done for this facility. Everything is ran by extension cords. Exposed wires and outlets held by duct tape. Luke warm water at best in the tub. Upon check in I showed my receipt where I booked 2 rooms and paid a deposit of half the room total for each room. The hotel had no record of anything being paid (even though I showed receipts) and had to pay in full again for both rooms to even stay there. Rooms were neat, but for the amount they charge a night, it shouldn’t be in the condition it’s in.

We stayed in one of the Roman rooms, the room was fairly clean, but there was still hair in the shower from the previous tenant and the tub had black specks coming out of the jets. Bathroom drawers are screwed shut with drywall screwers through the drawer face. The room was generally good, but everything in it was very tired and in need of updating. The tv near the bed had a laughable wiring set up that just looked terrible. It was an extension cord ziptied to the wall over a doorway to an outlet. The staff were helpful when we checked in, but halfway through the stay, our keycard stopped working. I went to the front desk, rang the bell a couple times per the instructions. 5 then 10 minutes go by, nobody shows up. I call the number at the desk, no one answers. I called the hotel's number from the website and must have got one of the managers. He came down within 10 minutes and refreshed my keycard. Breakfast was the typical continental affair, nothing worth noting. Location was good.
