Perfect home in Paradise

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Windsong is a beautiful Bahamian home with a great location mid-island on a stunning, mostly private, expansive pink sand beach. The ocean was very swimmable with gentle waves, soft sand and beautiful blue water, we even saw a turtle swim by one afternoon!! The property was very clean, well equipped and a great setup for our group of 6, which included 4 adults and 2 teens. The landscaping was gorgeous and we loved all the hammocks and shaded seating around the property. Patsy quickly responded to any questions we had and we greatly appreciated knowing she was a quick call away!! We had an amazing week in Eleuthera and a perfect stay at Windsong and hope to return again soon!!!

Loved the Island...Not Windsong so much.

Myself, wife, nanny and two year old stayed here at Windsong from December 19th through January 2nd 2015 to relax and unwind. This is our first trip here, and we really loved the island of Eleuthera with no strip malls, no fast food and a lot of very friendly people. Matt who helped with the rental and many many questions was flawless. I wish I could use him on booking all my trips. We also hired someone to cook, and she was wonderful. Nothing fancy but was great and a wonderful happy person. This rental home Windsong has two great separate villas just a very short walk away and was perfect for the friends that were with us for only four days of my wife and myself, nanny and two year olds 15 day trip. The separate villas are nice, but unfortunately the main house is too dated and to many issues plus a very rude and upset home manager/cleaning lady. MAIN WINDSONG HOME Kitchen floors are wood and really rotted. Sticky and ready to break because of rot. The rest of the main house has very very old tile and stained from many many years of use. Many of the power sockets don't work. Some of the ceiling fans are no longer working, and the one in the main room is noisy. When we arrived there were no trash bags, hand soap or shower soap or laundry detergent and only two rolls of toilet paper left for us for 15 days. We went and purchased these items immediately. I had also emailed the home manager a few times weeks in advance to make sure the rental company I had scheduled dropped off a crib and highchair before we arrived. (The owners don't have anything) and she didn't which left me to deal with and no nap for a two year old after flying. I asked her also to makeup the den day bed. Never happened. Asked her about paying extra for more cleaning.....no response. 10 days into rental and we had a no water issue. Pump burnt out. The chef we hired was treated rudely by the home manager as well and was asked to do laundry, fold towels and put away as Patsy wanted to go home. Home Manager also shook a box a trash bags in my wife's face and said "why did you email the owners I didn't have trash bags for you, what do you call these!!" They were the single box of trash bags I had purchased myself the day before. We found out later that the home manager was very upset we didn't hire her to cook. Again, loved the island, not Windsong so much.

Quiet Perfection

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Windsong is beyond stunning. Pictures do not do the property justice. My family of two adults and three teenage boys sought seclusion and simplicity on the beach and that's exactly what we found at Windsong. We initially wanted a pool, but at the time of booking, Windsong was the closest home to the water than other options with pools. Double bay has a most beautiful water and we didn't miss the pool at all. We enjoyed the peace and ease of our incredible view and effortless access to the beach. We traveled with our own tent in case we wanted shade at the beach. Strongly recommend. We had calm water days, wave jumping days and amazing snorkeling right off the beach - all along double bay. We visited other beaches on Caribbean side and preferred Double Bay. The home is luxurious in the most simple way. We found restaurants to be lacking ($40 for kid-portion of 5 fish sticks). Ended up cooking majority of meals at home over 9 days. Island Farm grocer was 5 mins away and had the best produce and meats, wines and more. When we return, we will hire a chef for the week as other reviews mention. We didn't think we would need due to rave reviews of area restaurants, but after our stay, we regret not having done so. It was too late to schedule chef arrangements once we were on the island. Note: we received an amazing guide of resources from Eleuthera Rentals. Most of the information is potentially of date or providers no longer active. Many activities listed no longer in operation (at least in July). We hoped for easy access to boat rentals, tubing, fishing, etc. We planned the trip last minute. I wish we had spent more time firming up activities before we arrived. Phones didn't work much if we were not on property. Reaching locals solely through WhatsApp was challenging. Patsy, however, was very responsive to our every question and need. Loved every minute. Would absolutely return!!

Windsong - Amazing

Windsong on Double Bay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay in November 2022 was wonderful. The weather was perfect and the property was too. Windsong contains 3 separate bungalows with sleeping and bathrooms accommodations in each. All the housings were clean, comfortable and caretaker was available to answer any questions. One night the electricity went out as we were fixing dinner, the stove was gas which helped. Dinner was served by candlelight. Windsong makes its own water so there is a motor running alot in the third bungalow which can be heard in bathroom area. All in all a delightful place to relax an enjoy Eleuthera's spectacular pink beaches. All six of us who stayed at Windsong would recommend and consider returning on our next visit.

Escape with Family

This house is wonderful! The spaces are all comfortable and made for relaxing as a group. Having separate houses for family members was such a nice escape. The beach is gorgeous and you have it all to yourselves! We loved how close we were to Buccaneer and the farmers market. It was also completely isolated. This is such a great find!

House was properly equipped with everything you would need but shampoo, conditioner and body soap.We noticed dead termites scattered throughout the house, primarily in the master bedroom and it looked like the air ducts had not been vacuumed or cleaned in years. The house it a bit dated and could used some decluttering. Would suggest mid week a housekeeper comes through just to do a quick sweep of the house, mopping ...Management company wonderful, friendly and responsive.

Peaceful Getaway

My husband and I stayed in the Beach Cottage and listened to the waves at night as we slept. We enjoyed the convenience of the kitchen where we cooked most of our dinners. We visited the Queens Baths, Sapphire Blue Hole, Eleuthera Pineapple Farm, Lighthouse Beach among other attractions. We also enjoyed chilling on the beach, snorkeling, and kayaking. Maybe we'll be back one day!

Fabulous Family Vacation

After this trip our oldest son called and said this was the best family vacation we have had! The house is just grand. It had everything we needed. We like to bring our own meat and cook often at the house. The kitchen was stocked with absolutely everything we needed. The outdoor grill is in great shape. The house was immaculately cleaned. The caretaker, Patsy, is among the best! She is sweet and reached out to us each day to make sure all was well. Patsy is top notch and a lovely person! The amazing history in the main house is just beautiful. We love the traditional Cuban style tile. The beds are comfortable! The dining room was perfect for the entire crew to enjoy great dinners together. Both of our sons brought friends with them and the cottages were perfect! The main family room offered many nights of family fun. We brought some games, but there are so many at the house we did not need ours. The lounge chairs on the patio and beach are in beautiful shape. It is so rare to find a house that keeps enough chairs for all of the guests. The grounds at the house are so well maintained and the flowers, shrubs and coconuts add so much charm. We had an amazing breeze during our stay. I guess, hence the name, Windsong! Thank you Beth and Patsy and EVR. We'll be back!

Relaxing and Remote Stay in Eleuthera

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Windsong Double Bay is very private and secluded. Featuring 3 different cottages, it is a spread out, 2-3 acre parcel with direct beachfront access and views from each house. The houses are set back from the ocean about 150 feet, so if you want to be right up on the water, this isn't the property for you.The main house is in very good condition. The kitchen is a tad small but has what you need to cook, the dining room is spacious, and the living room is very well lit. The main bedroom is plenty big and the bathroom has a double sink and separate tub/shower. The beach cottage has a great view of the water and is nice and updated with a great shower, and the garden cottage has a further view of the water but comes with a small kitchenette (microwave, sink, fridge) and a bathroom with a tub/shower combo. All of the outdoor showers for each cottage are well kept and very useful. The grounds themselves are well maintained (otherwise the vegetation would take over quickly) and the beach hut and hammocks are nice amenities, though the beach hut is still a bit removed from the beach. One nice thing would be permanent or sturdy umbrellas for the beach itself. Double bay is a fantastic beach with softer pink sand that on Harbour Island. The breeze from the Atlantic keeps the bugs away most of the time and the waves provide fun swimming action. For those needing a more calmer water experience, Ten Bay beach is 10 minutes away and is one of the best Caribbean side beaches in Eleuthera.The caretaker, Patsy, is very nice and mostly responsive. I'd suggest calling her over any other forms of communication. She'll generally get back to you within a day. We did take advantage of her meal service and both times they were excellent. Expect to pay around $200 for this.The only cons were that the mobile hotspots they use for wifi didn't all work (I don't think the SIM cards were active in some) and there is no satellite TV, only an Amazon fire sti

Undiscovered Treasure

We had a very nice time in Eleuthera. Beautiful and undiscovered. Windsong was especially beautiful and we were all able to completely relax and feel at home. The house was full of such beautiful things that we could tell were carefully chosen over the years to make the house a home. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare and serve meals. We enjoyed eating outside for dinners and breakfast in the entry table. We loved all the palm trees and my son supplied us with the coconut milk after Patsy's husband provided us with a dmonstration! We loved all the reading material and books available for us. We spent many hours on the beach relaxing and reading and the umbrellas were much appreciated. We never saw one person pass us on our basically private beach. We ate at Buccaneers (twice) and 1648 and Tippys. All were very good. We had fun exploring the island. Ten bay beach was very cool! The signage in town is scarce so we had to feel our way around. The people were all very nice. We feel like Eleuthera is an undiscovered treasure. We found everything to be very expensive and the grocery stores didn't carry very much to cook at home. We made spaghetti hot dogs and sandwiches . Never found fresh fish. 😩 Patsy was incredible and helped get the Ac working after our first night of discomfort. Back up the next day. Some of the outdoor furniture was broken but that was the only negative and it didn't take away from our experience. We fed the lizard who ate out of our hand. We saw a shark at the beach! Calmly swimming along the coastline. Overall it was a great experience and we wish we could have stayed longer .

Beautiful property on private beach

This is a beautiful property on a gorgeous, nearly private beach. During the week we were there we only crossed paths with one other person on the beach the entire time. There were 7 of us staying and there was more than enough room for all of us. First, the booking process... Matt and Tara - the rental managers - were helpful and quick to respond. They made the booking process very easy and were always quick to respond to questions that I had. Eleuthera is a fairly remote island and they were very helpful with booking a car, recommendations for restaurants and supplies, etc. They checked in twice during the week to make sure we arrived without any issues and that everything was ok. I have dealt with a number of different property managers and they were the most responsive and helpful that I have come across. The property is beautiful. The location can't be beat. We drove to different beaches and always came back and said our favorite was the one in front of the house. The newest cottage is like a four seasons resort room. We had everything we needed. Be prepared for wildlife - lots of fish at the beach, land crabs, sharks, etc. My 3 sons loved it. We never knew what we would see and each day was different. Patsy and Sean who maintain the property were incredible. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Sean came down one day and gave us lessons on coconuts - after that we had fresh coconut every day. We wanted to buy some fish to cook and the local fisherman hadn't gone out so Patsy found a fisherman on the other end of the island and drove there to get us the fish - then delivered it to us. She cooked for us the night we arrived and it was wonderful. There was a storm the week before we arrived which knocked out the internet and she was diligent in trying to get it fixed. Just make sure to call her when you need something - her email is unreliable, which is not her fault. The island is remote and not at all touristy. There are no large hotels. There are no street signs. But it is beautiful with the most amazing beaches. The people are so helpful and friendly. Everything you need is there but on a small scale - shops, restaurants, etc. We all loved it and hated to leave.

Fantastic rental property

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Windsong. The home is beautiful and very well maintained. Both the style of the home and the furnishings are tastefully done and stylish. The overall layout, including the two separate cottages, was perfect for a group like ours, with two couples and a fifth member of our party. There is a short path to the beach, which was also beautiful and completely private. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home!

Tranquillity & Elegance

Windsong is an elegantly appointed home. It sits directly above a picture perfect beach where you will rarely see anyone, except yourselves. The caretaker Patsy takes pride in the home and her work. For our arrival she shopped for basic supplies and cooked us arrival and departure dinners. Next time we will have her prepare more meals! She was also responsive to any of our needs during the entire stay. Each of the three bedrooms are beautifully appointed as is the home in general. The people of this island are also welcoming. It is a quiet location, restorative, and much nature to explore from a nearby excellent nature preserve- Levy (good on windy day) to snorkeling and fishing or just reading & napping. The home has board games to allow evenings of conversation. The TV is located in a study and we never turned it on! Though they do have good WIFI for those of us who needed to be connected for work and family. I recommend this for adults who want to gather in a civilized setting. Note: we had windows opened and enjoyed great breezes and no use of AC during our stay.

Relaxing escape from reality!

What a beautiful home on a beautiful, nearly private beach! My wife and I have been to Eleuthera several times and each time we are sure to stay at Windsong. The caretakers are lovely and the house is in great shape. Other visitors should keep in mind that Windsong is a fairly remote island that hasn't become overrun with tourism...it's not at all like mainland Hawaii, so be sure to adjust your expectations accordingly! The house has great privacy, beautiful views over the ocean, lots of coconuts and plenty of parking. The kitchen is a fun retro kitchen and more often we find ourselves headed to Tippy's and to other spots for dinner on the island. Thanks to the owner(s) who have clearly put a great deal of time, thought and love into this home and we appreciate them sharing it.

Lovely beach house on the best beach in Eleuthera

Our stay at Windsong was lovely. The main house and cottages had everything we needed - well maintained, clean, beautiful landscaping and great location. The beach is the best on Eleuthera - soft pink sand and almost no one else on the beach with some pretty good snorkeling right off shore. Patsy and Sean, the caretakers, were waiting for us upon arrival, even being almost 2 hours late due to flights. They called twice during the week to make sure we were okay. We asked for a demonstration on how to open coconuts at the end of the week and they came promptly showing everyone the four different stages of coconuts and how to get into one to eat them. They were very kind and helpful. We were only 15 minutes to town to get to most restaurants. Overall a great beach house especially if you want some privacy. If we ever needed that much space again, we will return. Thank you for sharing your lovely property with us.
