“A weekend in McGregor IA to attend a family funeral. Our hosts were amazing from the time we booked till we left to check in w/us on our accommodations. The property is a beautiful home w/ all new amenities plus dog friendly. We had access to a full backyard for our dog plus able to grill out & sit on a private balcony to enjoy meals & overlook downtown McGregor! We highly recommend this property. “Spring at this cozy cabin was wonderful as wildflowers emerged and migrating and local birds filled the forest with their beautiful song and nesting activities. After a day of hiking, we relaxed with a campfire under the brilliant star filled sky as the barred owl hooted with its new fledging nearby. Heidi is so easy to communicate with, but just like our first two stays at this cabin, we had no issues. The owners make it easy to have a very enjoyable, peaceful stay!”

“This cabin and property were a perfect choice for our fishing getaway. We were a little concerned about the available space for 4 large adults in the cabin as well as two boats and two trucks, but everything turned out great. Cabin ended up being perfect. Location to the boat ramp was really good and we were able to fit our boats and trucks at the location. “It’s a cute 3 bedroom apartment. Very comfortable with lots of treats (coffee, popcorn). However, there was a lot of noise into the early morning hours from the bar across the street in the one bedroom with a window facing the street. We stayed a Friday night perhaps it’s quieter during the week.”

Nevertheless, we enjoyed the stay but it might be out of our price range in the future. The location is prime and as always the trains are an adjustment as they were more frequent this time.
