This was my second stay at The View. The rooms are generously sized and well-appointed, and the hotel is on a quiet stretch of the seafron, right opposite the beach.

We found the staff at the front desk curt and unhelpful. I would recommend having them scratch the parking permits rather than handing them to guests for them to do. Also they seem put out when asking for things like laundry and ice. Also, the price for breakfast is ridiculously expensive if not purchased in advance. After staying at 3 other hotels with free breakfast this was outrageous.

A great experience walking out to your own balcony. Over and over again you want to come out and see the spectacle of the beachside. This is the only Modernist hotel (1970's) in Eastbourne with a great community history. And I would never want to come to the other ones which toute stuffy old Victorian "grandure". It has been recently refreshed inside, with its great mezzanine breakfast hall, restaurants elevators and gym. I enjoyed stretching my legs by walking down the totally windowed back staircases taking in the view of the inland Eastbourne -including the nearby womens championship tennis courts and the Towner Art Galllery So close to the piers on the beachside and the Bistro Pierre for medium priced new cuisine.
