Cat point hideaway

Eastpoint retreat

This propert was absolutely stunning! The views are incredible. The foshing was top notch. We caught more of the beach than on our charter. The house was clean and comfortable. Every one agreed it was one of our best vacation stays yet. We travel every year for christmas.

Amazing location

We loved the location: isolated yet perfectly located right close to both bridges (st George and apalachicola) the place was very clean and throughly appreciated the second thermostat upstairs. The only recommendation for improvement would be the master bed room mattress it wasn’t very comfortable but overall we would stay here again due to the positive experience and most of all the location.

The home is quite new and nicely decorated. You cannot beat the customer service from Forgotten Shores!

Wonderful Location & View

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a modern home (it is for sale for $2m) in a great location. It faces the bay, has a nice screened porch, a nice oak-lined driveway and a large mowed yard with a pond that sometimes apparently has a gator or two. There are a lot of stairs but the railings are strong and our group (we are in the 70s and low 80s) did manage them well. If you ask, Forgotten Shores will help you with your luggage and that was appreciated. Easy to communicate with them. The housekeeper does need to provide more hand soap pumps and toilet paper. We ran out of the former and ran low of the latter. Located at the bridge to St. George Island it is a lovely place to vacation. Would stay there again.

Private Getaway

Reviewer Comments: First of all - we were concerned about this area in general as Hurricane Helene was predicted to hit this area pretty hard a few days prior to our stay. We were grateful this area received little impact, although the area east of here was hit really hard. Hour hearts go out to these folks. The original location we were supposed to stay had some damage that required us to be relocated to Cat Point. Forgotten Shores was WONDERFUL in handling this and making our stay easy. This place turned out to be one of our most favorite locations we have stayed yet. The location of this rental to both Apalach and the Island was ideal for us. This place provided all of our favorite things - privacy, comfort, clean, stocked and having the extras such as fire pit and bay access were perfect. We would definitely try to book here again next year.

Quiet Solitude

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As we turned down the dirt road we were greeted with a place better than we anticipated. Every couple had their own room, there was plenty of space for our nightly dinners, the screened in porch was perfect for late talks without worrying about mosquitoes, the dogs had ample room to play outside, the home provided us with a bike rental and corn hole set which we used daily. We took daily bike rides to the pier and nature preserve to the left and right of the property. We even saw a black bear, bobcat and eagles.We had one unforeseen problem with the refrigerator during our stay and the property managers resolved it immediately replacing the refrigerator with a brand new one. They were extremely communicative and responded immediately.If you are looking for a place to completely get away and unplug from the world, this is the place. We loved our stay and would book again.

Family fun!!

This was a fantastic home. Well stocked kitchen which is important to us since we cook meals. We throughly enjoyed the seclusion and peacefulness of the location. Great boat ramp just up the road and ample parking at public beach access on St. George island

wonderful setting

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stayed at Cat Point before. It is a lovely house and it is well stocked. Since there were only two of us we didn't use the upstairs. The downstairs beds are OK but not super comfortable.There are a lot of stairs as the house is built on tall pillars but there are solid railings. The realtors will help with your luggage. What is great is the view and the surrounding property. It has a huge deck and screened porch that look out over the Bay. The yard has moss-covered oaks and other trees. Out back is a nice pond that now has a gator or two. So unlike SGI, where most houses sit side by side in treeless lots, this house offers privacy, seclusion, and a wonderful natural setting. It is only 4 miles over the bridge to SGI and 6 mi to Apalachicola. Lovely place!

Secluded and Convenient

Immaculately clean property with beautiful views and lots of wildlife (we saw the alligator but it stayed on the far side of the pond!). We were a group of 10 and the kitchen was perfectly stocked with enough dishes and many helpful small appliances. The beverage fridge was especially helpful with having enough space in the main fridge. Conveniently located to SGI and Appalachicola. The Esuary Research center next door is a worthy destination. Screened porch was a favorite hangout for many and we enjoyed the ability to walk to the fishing pier by either the driveway or beach. Walks along the beach do require shoes as there are lots of oyster shells.

Great location and house

Really loved the house and the property. Private beach area was wonderful. We enjoyed having our dogs there and walking without meeting a lot of other people. House was comfortable for 6 adults and had everything we needed. Will be back!

Great house and close to everything!

We stayed at the house and it was wonderful as it was close to everything we needed to do. It is in Eastpoint and has a lovely sunrise view…we had work to do in both Apalachacola and St George Island and it was right in the middle of both locations! They could have been a little more generous with guest towels but we washed them and made do plus brought extra towels. Great house and great stay! We will rent again!
