“I want to discourage everyone from staying at the Royal Frenchman… in order to keep this place to myself! Don’t stay here if want a modern hotel, with many modern amenities, lacking in character and charm. Don’t stay if colorful staff with a passion for the music of New Orleans ( which they bring nightly to the hotel lobby or courtyard) is not your thing. Don’t stay if listening to music wafting in from Frenchman street late into the night seems annoying. But you have a passion for the people,……

“The front door is locked in the evening with access granted by your room key. We were greeted with a big smile and hearty “come on in” as we entered the front lobby. We were quickly checked in by staff. There is a small pool in a lovely courtyard. The room was clean and cool with plenty of room. The room sports a Kurig and safe. ”

“Huge wow factor when you come in. It’s a recently converted 130 year old school with high ceilings and beautiful rooms. Fully outfitted to cook your own meals. A three minute walk to the Canal Streetcar. Came with a family of four. Gated for additional safety. Free parking onsite. Gym downstairs is two treadmills and a bunch of barbells and some benches - all you need. 100% would stay here any time we are in the city, especially if staying for a week or more.”

“For a one-night stay, probably the best experience weve ever had. The staff was amazing and the room was amazingly comfortable and clean. The location in relation to the French Quarter couldnt be better. We will stay again.”

“AMAZING staff! AMAZING location! Rooms VERY clean! SUPER convenient location! Walkable to LOTS!!! Older (historical?) building so no elevator to third floor we were placed but we were ok with that. It would be ideal to have small refrigerator and microwave in rooms. We had to be strategic when going out to eat to ensure we ordered just enough so we wouldn’t have leftovers. Also, room temperature drinks are not what was craved on hot - humid days when walking back into our room. But……

"The FMI enjoys a very convenient location in the French quarter at a generally affordable price. The architecture style is french with big windows and lovely courtyard quiet in a short distance away from the hustling streets outside. The manager and frontdesk people are all very nice dealing with unexpected situation in a very prompt manner. There is cable TV in the room. The AC works very well. The window view is pleasant."
