"Room was clean. Layed out nicely "

"Check in was a bit unusual: no one at front desk, but a note from the management with a phone number to call to check in. Call went through, and the hotel keeper texted our room number, the door code, and the wifi password. Room was on the second floor (no elevator that we could see), and was very cold (-8 C outside). We cranked up the heater and still pretty cold after an hour or so, but by the time we returned from dinner several hours later, the room was very warm. We did think that, since they knew we were coming, they might have turned on the heat ahead of time. Otherwise, very basic room with two comfortable queen beds, and a flat screen TV with no standard channels that we could find, but free Amazon Prime. Also included basic toiletries, towels, etc.,but almost no toilet paper (We spotted the housekeeping cart in the hallway and scored a couple rolls that way). Coffeemaker and some coffee, iron and ironing board, microwave, and small fridge/freezer combo. Small washroom with one of those pre-fab shower stalls. Lots of hot water. Room was nice and clean but kind of uninspiring, but we weren't looking for an experience—just a decent place to sleep for a couple nights, and it gave us that at a very reasonable price. It was unusual in that there didn't seem to be any staff on-site, and the front door was not locked. That might worry some people. All-in-all, it was fine. We'd stay there again. "

"The staff were great, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and fresh. Breakfast was good, variety, fresh."

"I was in room 4, Queen main floor. It had two windows that opened to a inner wall which was perfect for me. I could have the windows open, fresh air and no worries of people. The room was bright and very comfortable for my week stay. The staff checked in everyday but other than that I saw no one. Perfect for the antisocial/ want to be left alone type traveler. The hotel itself is a 5 minute walk to anything worth going to. Things to be expected for this older building with character is: you can hear people above you, so if that's a problem take something on the top floor. The water take 3 minutes to heat up so turn in the tap as you're getting ready for your shower. There is no staff on site so make sure you make any requests during their daily routine in the morning(they are fast at getting it done for you). Will definitely stay again. "
