Heart of Historical Florence

Unique and traditional style 13th century 3 bedroom spacious apartment just next to the Arno and Piazza Santa Croce.

Very quiet and private apartment within the heart of historical Florence; The apartment is located less then 5 minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio and Piazza Signoria, and approximately 10/15 minutes walk to the Duomo.

This first floor apartment is on Corso dei Tinori. A lovely and typical street known for its 12th and 13th century history of tinting wool and silk next to the river and the 'Arte dei Tintori'. There are wonderful bars, restaurants, trattorias, gelato shops and typical caffés surrounding this area.

The apartment has been carefully and traditionally renovated, and has air conditioning and heating in every room. It has a quirky and interesting lay out with original beams, stone exposure, original shutters, antique furnishings and original flooring in places. It’s full of character for a unique stay in the heart of historical Florence.

Access to the third bedroom and second bathroom is through a 1.6m beamed study. Living room and second bedroom look out to each other across a courtyard and double French shuttered doors.

Fully functional and equipped modern bathrooms and kitchen and expendable dining space within the living area.

PLEASE NOTE CITY TAX IS NOT INCLUDED AND MUST BE PAID ON ARRIVAL. This is a legal requirement. You will receive an email from property manager prior to arrival with details and to arrange check in etc.

Travelling to the apartment:

There is no access to this street with a car during the day, however you can again access between 7:30pm to 7:30am (when green light on only) or of a Saturday. If you wish to stay with a car you can park short stay along the Arno in blue spaces, and pay at meter - though I would only recommend this for short stay as it becomes very expensive after first hour, however it is free there from 8pm to 8am.

The nearest garage is on the Street "Garage Tintori" please look online for rates and to book a space with them.

The house can be accessed at all times on that street by bus or taxi - there is a bus stop on the street which can runs bus service no. 23, direction SORGANE)

Santa Maria Novella train station is approximately 15 minute walk: Directions; once you have walked out of the station, turn right on to Via de' Cerretani and walk until you reach Piazza del Duomo. (You can't miss this Piazza!) Walk along Via del Proconsolo and keep straight on until you reach Via dei Leoni. At the junction with Via de Neri turn left, and proceed over the traffic lights at the crossroads with Via de Benci, keep going straight until you finally reach the Corso dei Tintori, No. 23! If you are unsure weather you have arrived at the right door, you will see 'Connaire' listed as a name on one of the bells.

Our stay in Florence
We very much enjoyed our stay in Florence at this property. It was in short walking distance from all the sites and museums, shopping and other attractions we wanted to see. Grocery store across the street was very handy. We are also runners so being close to the river/canal for a long morning run was fantastic. We both recommend this property for someone wanting to stay in the historic portion of Florence.

Florence the month of March
Vanni the manager was super Location & shower great! Worst bed mattresses ever! Three beds all horrible- Musky smell throughout the apartment that is gross. Dog pee on curtains in day bed area, totally disgusting! Chairs with signs Do not sit under renovation! Ridiculous! Broken chairs stacked by dryer that barely works! Horrible! The apartment in pictures looks spacious but it’s actually just a long hallway that takes up all the square useless footage. Uncomfortable tiny sofa. Tiny bathroom with washer in it. The washer and dryer should be together. If the broken chairs next to dryer were not there that’s where the washer should be hooked up. It’s freezing cold in there- damp and smelly.uncomfortable we stayed for the month we were there. Worst bed mattresses we have ever encountered in the last 15 years on VRBO… and we travel 5 months every year throughout the world. My husband contacted the owner and requested a new mattress for the master bedroom. Two weeks later she responds that she ordered a new duvet cover and a three inch extra foam pad for the crappy original mattress. How does this help? Horrible. I even slept on the floor one night because all the mattress stink. The bathroom is the tiniest bathroom imaginable..the spare bathroom they basically advise you not to use & is simply a drain next to the toilet with a shower head. Boat showers are better. Hot water went out twice! I’d never stay here again!

Great location and cozy apartment
The location of this apartment was excellent and within walking distance to all sites. We found the apartment very cozy with lovely comfortable chairs to relax in after a long day of sightseeing. Vanni was very welcoming and explained all the necessities to us.

Cool apartment in a great location
The location was perfect between the Santa Croce church and piazza de La Signorelli. We walked everywhere, and there was a convenient grocery store just across the street. The apartment had what we needed and was perfect for a few nights in Florence. The shower was good sized with good water pressure, and there were two bathrooms, which was nice. The only slight negative was the mattresses were hard and AC in the bedrooms noisy. But we could deal with these things for the great location and overall apartment amenities. Great place to stay in Florence.

Excellent location and vibe!
What a fun place to stay with teen girls. The property itself was the most unique place we have ever stayed. It is huge and both my girls, 14 and 16 had their own rooms. Location was perfect to walk to everything. Literally 5 min it’s to the Uffizi gallery, plus the other must do’s in Florence.

Great location and funky place
This apartment was a great base of operations for my family's four day stay in Florence. It's just outside the really busy area so it's quiet but still within a 5 minute walk of the action. The pictures don't really convey just how strange this apartment is. Personally, we loved the place and its eccentricities but I can't imagine living there and it certainly wouldn't be for everyone. The "cave room" is a long way back and one must stoop down under two short doorways to get there. It was perfect for my 11 year old but if two adults wanted to stay back there it would be pretty annoying as the bed barely fits so there isn't much room for one's things. The pictures show a lot of natural light coming in the apartment but all of those windows actually face on to courtyards with walls or AC units as your only sights. So you'll need to leave the apartment for views... which is fine because Florence is a wonderful city to walk around. The last thing you should do is stay in and look out your windows! The kitchen was well-appointed and the two bathrooms with showers were nice. And after 3 weeks in Italy, hanging clothes inside our apartments to dry, I cannot overstate how amazing it was to have a clothes dryer! I recommend this place for a family with kids who will love playing in the "cave"... and the price is certainly reasonable.

In a nutshell, we would absolutely stay here again
The prior reviews of this property were spot on. The location is about a mile away from the Santa Maria Novella train station, making it convenient for us to use our Eurail passes for trips throughout Italy. We landed at the Florence Airport to begin our three month stay here. We arrived in the afternoon and decided to take a taxi to the property since we weren’t yet familiar with the area yet and were also concerned with rolling luggage on cobblestone. However, it literally only took a day to familiarize ourselves with the area. A lot of people can be seen rolling their luggage to the train station to take a train trip or to use the tram to get to the airport, so it’s doable. The property has a washer and dryer which made it convenient for us to wash and dry our clothes. The kitchen has dishes, utensils, a coffee maker, microwave oven and stove and oven. The wi-fi is wicked fast. The TV wasn’t working, but we were able to stream movies on our phones, tablet and laptop. There are manual items for cleaning, but it would have been nice (but not a necessity) to have an electric broom. There are plenty of open restaurants within easy walking distance, but some were also closed while they were on vacation, but almost all were open within a week or two of our arrival. The Conad supermarket just across the street was one of our favorite conveniences for us to purchase water, snacks and groceries as needed for us to cook at the property when we didn’t want to eat out. Some of our train trips required physical tickets. Mail to the property is available, but be aware that the post office didn’t want to give us the mail in our name because we weren’t the property owner and they wanted permission from the owner to release the mail. Bottom line, we felt right at home here and we would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property.
