The outdoor Onsen bath was under construction and was not open during our stay, but the hosts kindly let us use a small outdoor family bath. The indoor baths were incredible! The dining was a great experience and was super authentic. Maybe a little bit too authentic for our kids! The only breakfast option was a...

"This hotel is very easy to find, 2 min walk from a bus station, although bus only comes every hour. It is located at a very local village hence host only speaks little bit of English but it did not stop him from helping us in any ways. We checked in at 8pm (after dinner service), the host drove us to a nearby restaurant and then the restaurant owner drove us back to the hotel!
There are two private outdoor onsen which guests can use 24 hours free of charge. The only thing I could not handle was...

10/10 Excellent
It’s rare and it may sound too good to be true: my partner and I enjoyed every single moment we spent at Kakurean Hidaji as soon as we arrive. This is our first ryokan experience and it will probably be the best in this price range.
