Enchanting Funchal

We absolutely loved our stay in Funchal. The spacious apartment is in an excellent location in the old town. The sunny balcony overlooks the Atlantic and the bustling restaurants below serve up an amazing selection of delectable dishes. Make sure to take the cable car up to the Monte Palace Gardens to view the most spectacular scenery. I would highly recommend this spot. Can’t wait to return.

Madeira Funchal

Loved the apartment plenty of room and great location. Good restaurant on the ground floor. All the staff were very nice. Booked tour of the western part of the island and really enjoyed it.

Exactly as advertised

As the listing makes clear, you will be staying right in the heart of the old town - on its oldest cobblestone street. That means some noise on the weekends and plenty of bustle right out the front door - but it also means you're immersed in the activity. It is steps from dozens of restaurants, bars, and the waterfront. Can't recommend this property enough if you are looking for a location in the middle of everything old town Funchal has to offer. Also an amazing value - would stay here again in a minute.

Perfect Location

We had Apt 5 with a full size balcony and view of water. It was a walk-up but worth it. Very convenient location. Restaurants right at your door. Water front a two minute walk. Mercado and main market just minutes away. You can be in the middle of all the activity or walk in the other direction for a quieter area. Definitely the perfect location. And will rebook for future trips to Funchal.

Great Apartment in Old Town

This apartment is an excellent option for Funchal. It is right in the heart of old town. A five minute walk to swimming spots and a 5 to 10 minute walk to the farmers market and a big supermarket with everything. The veranda is lovely and the pictures are extremely accurate. The property managers are in the same building and you get a discount on the restaurant on the ground floor has great food. Cannot recommend more highly!

Relaxing escape in the heart of it all

I would definitely plan to stay here again next time in Madeira. This was a home away from home. Ocean views out the front and mountains views out the back. We enjoyed coming back from a day of adventuring and sitting on the balcony with a nice bottle of wine in the evening. The property manager is on site if there are any questions needing answered and she is extremely kind and helpful. Step outside your front door and be spoiled for choice for dinner.

Taberna Apartment

We were very pleased with apartment. Lots of room but beds a bit firm. AC would have been nice but still comfortable.The location in old town Funchal was excellent! We especially would like to thank Paulo who greeted us and gave us the keys along with local area info. As well he arranged an early morning taxi for us on our departure.Paulo is a kind, courteous man and was very accommodating throughout our stay and arranging dinner reservations for us in the restaurant downstairs that had exceptional service and delicious food. We highly recommend this apartment and would gladly stay there again in the future

It was mixed. The older man at affiliated restaurant seemed to dislike us from the beginning and his attitude towards us impacted my mother a lot. The good: location, size, price. Not as good: horrible beds-so uncomfortable, dirty kitchen sponge, no dish soap, someone left an arm brace in the freezer, 2?or so cabinet doors weren't attached and a general feeling that maybe they would say we broke something-don't know why we got that feeling but I took tons of pictures before we left just in case. So, in general I'm not unhappy we rented the place and we loved Funchal. Maybe our impression would have been different had the man downstairs not kind of sneered at is each time we entered the apartment. Also tell renters they need to pay hotel tax in cash ahead so they don't have to go to very expensive cash machine down the street. With a few tweaks, better beds, dish soap, new sponge-something to make you feel like you were valued staying at the apartment, this apartment would be a 5 out of 5. I know people would be willing to pay s bit more for a better bed.

Mittendrin im prallen Funchal

Wir haben gerne viel Platz und sind gerne sehr zentral - mit Taberna 5 - sozusagen im 3.Stock der Fressmeile in Funchal - war das bestens erfüllt. Ende Oktober war nicht vielmLärm - aber natürlich riecht man dass die Restaurants grillen. 2 Minuten zum ZOB, 2 Minuten zur Seilbahn, 3 Minuten zu Mercado dos Lavradores und zum großen Supermarkt. Genau unser Ding.
