“The only issue we had was there was no one to check us in, The contact numbers we had no one answered. We actually felt like we were trespassing. After driving around for an hour someone finally returned our call & messages and arranged to meet us. We had almost given up & were going to go home. Having said that we ended up having a really enjoyable stay :)”

The garden is a delight, and nothing, absolutely nothing, is too much trouble for the hosts, to ensure that you leave very reluctantly……”

“Lovely clean room but no breakfast facilities. I'm not sure if this is temporary or permanent. Staff were polite and helpful, parking was plentiful and safe.”

“Room was musty and needed to use body spray to mask smell. However, the bed was comfortable and room had a fan which helped. iron and ironing board were available. Sheets and towels were clean. Shower was powerful with good temperature: Facilities - Hot tub was out of order and I was not made aware of this when I arrived and said I was going to use the spa. Except from the library and reception area the hotel seemed run down and in dire need of a revamp central courtyard fake grass thread bare……

“Excellent accommodation, clean, tidy and close to Southwell. Easy parking and nice touch with snacks and drinks you could buy. Tea/coffee facilities, nice en-suite. Host was very receptive, we left an iPad in the room, and they kindly posted it back to us . Thank you”

“Convenient location and clean. Easy checkin with the key available from pub across the road. Had unusual single cup kettle and coffee maker and good selection of teas and coffees. Lights and bathroom tap were on timing sensors and both were a bit annoying particularly the tap when you were trying to fill a jug for the kettle. Bedclothing was a bit tired and there were only 2 fairly flat pillows on a standard size double bed. The thing I really didn’t like though was the musty smell of bedding……

“When we arrived just after 2pm it was like stepping onto the Marie Celeste. We finally found a few customers who told us that only member of staff doing front of house was getting ice cream for their daughter. When she appeared we asked about food but was told that the kitchen closed at 2 and that we would need to go out if we were hungry. Checking us in, she was very pleasant but hadn’t read my email sent a couple of days before to say we were bringing a dog which didn’t smack of……

“We were very well looked after by Shaan & Sef who must be the one prepared our breakfast which was freshly made and ample every morning . The room was clean and spacious enough for us & our dog Rocky. Tumbleweed is a good place to stay for a few days to visit the local attractions, such as Sherwood Forest, nearby. It is a heaven for dog owners and joggers. I jogged with my dog along the Well Lane & The Avenue every morning and walked my dog on the couple of bridal ways nearby in the evening.……
