This property was very far from the city, so it took us some time to got there. Therefore, the surrounding area was very quiet and the hot springs were great,I and my wife were very relaxed.
The location is absolutely stunning, and the staff and hospitality are fantastic. Some of the fixtures and fittings are a little bit dated, but that isn't really why you'd go there - and a 70's Japanese toilet still makes my one at home look like a long-drop anyway. The hot spring baths themselves are incredible
The staff was very attentive and nice. Our room and view were beautiful. Wifi excellent. The hot springs were excellently maintained and very serene. The meals (dinner and breakfast) were extremely interesting and elaborate, but only so-so in terms of flavor. (I'm an American, but am generally a big fan of a wide range Japanese foods; this was not my favorite.) We were sort of disappointed that, despite the age of the hotel as an organization, there is apparently no trace of old structures, so it was hard to tell that it was more than 10 years old.
