This motel is older and yes needs an update. There is fridge and microwave a long with coffee in the room. It was very clean and quiet considering it is beside a busy highway. Staff was nice. For me it was just a place to sleep while I spent time with family.

Great Motel on the Way to the Golden Isles

The Cheerio Inn is a great, restored motel roughly an hour and a half from Jekyll Island, St. Simons Island, etc. Very clean. No bug problems whatsoever. Super nice staff. My wife is far pickier than I am about such things, is used to nice hotels, etc. and she felt fine. The nightly rates are terrifically affordable and the area seems quite safe.

This was our second stay as we headed back home. This time I wasn't as happy with my room. On arrival, the room was stuffy. Outside temps were close to 100. The air conditioner took quite a while to cool down the room. The coffee maker basket was broken, and there was only enough coffee for one cup. There were two of us. We had to go to the office for more. Also, the shower wouldn't shut off completely, but dripped all night. Our room was clean, no complaints there and it was quiet. We slept well. The price was very reasonable. No frills, just a room and shower. Not sure I'll stay there again.
