"We had originally booked a double bed, but they were out of stock, so they changed us to two rooms free of charge. Very kind of them.And the hotel has a very retro décor and a great atmosphere. You can play chess with friends by the warm fireplace while enjoying a beer. It's very pleasant"

"The lodge was lovely and in a good location on the Parkdean site, which is conveniently located between windermere and ambleside. Good communication with Helen, who gave good recommendations of things to do and where to go. The lodge is really spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. We don't have a dog bit noted the lovely basket and treats for guests with dogs which was a nice touch. The photos don't do the lodge justice. "

"Staff were really friendly. Hotel and grounds were beautiful. Rooms were spotless. They also left a teddy on my daughters bed, which was lovely.the only 2 downsides were the WiFi (room 20) wasn’t reliable, this is fine if you don’t need the internet but if you intend to use it was a bit of pain because there was no mobile signal either. I like that it is a dog friendly hotel, however we had a dog barking most of the night at the hotel."

"Lovely stay. Great room, very nice breakfast and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The christmas decorations made the whole stay feel very festive. The kids loved everything about it. The spa swimming pool was a little on the cold side but ok. "
