"Beautiful place with a nice Adirondack feel. The restaurant was hopping when we checked in, and Cortney on the night desk was extremely helpful when we had a little snafu on our rooms. Quickly resolved and no attitude problem which was refreshing. Suite was big and well equipped with utensils, plates, and everything you would need to prepare simple food. There was a washer/dryer available at no charge, which was really nice. The shower even had a grab bar, which most places don’t. As a Senior, I really appreciate that. On our last night we ate in their restaurant which proved to be pretty good. And our server, Jen, could not have been nicer and very attentive. I highly recommend The Craftsman. Nice hotel without being a Hilton or Marriott, which made it extra nice."

"We stayed here for a quick weekend getaway and had a wonderful experience. The location in Auburn is super convenient—it’s an easy drive to downtown spots, local historical sites, and nearby parks, making it a great base camp if you're touring the region. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, providing everything we needed for a relaxing night's rest after a busy day out. The staff was friendly and welcoming from check-in to check-out. If you're looking for a reliable, no-fuss, and cozy place to stay while exploring the Finger Lakes without breaking the bank, this place definitely fits the bill. Would happily stay here again!"

Best Western Syracuse Downtown Hotel and Suites

"The hotel was built in 1927, and, like a lot of buildings in downtown Syracuse, it was once quite grand. It had fallen on hard times, as had much of the Armory Square neighborhood (this still persists) but the Best Western organization renovated the hotel completely; the staff said it was done 3 years ago. The quality of the finishes is fine, enhanced by the care that staff take throughout the building. My room--actually a very spacious one bedroom suite with living room and kitchenette--was spotless, as were hallways, elevator, and public areas. The hotel has the very basics when it comes to the lobby "shop", but the rooms have very nice toiletries, and the complimentary breakfast, although very basic, was fine. Parking, an additional charge, was nevertheless convenient. All in all, a very good stay. Syracuse has not yet figured out how to be a walkable city; although we needed to go less than a half mile, we had to walk along and over a main highway."
