Staying at Ballifeary House in Inverness is a real Scottish experience. The home is beautiful, the hosts are friendly, professional, and very accommodating. Be sure to try the home-made marmalade, it is wonderful. I had to ask to leave my suitcase at the house as my pickup was delayed for several hours and the hosts were very helpful, which allowed me to spend some time visiting the city instead of sitting outside with my suitcases.
Ballifeary House is their home so I was very respectful of the their space, as were the other guests. It was peaceful, quiet, the room was large enough for 2 people and well appointed with what I needed for my stay. I would stay here again and recommend it for couples and single travelers, it is not for families with children or people with physical impairments that cannot go up steps.
The city center is a short walk, about 8 minutes, from Ballifeary House and the hosts have information, maps, and anything you need to explore the area.
