“Days before arrival, I requested a travel cot (offered by the host) to be delivered to the apartment since there were 3 adults in our reservation. I was assured the cot would be there when we arrived. When we arrived, there was no cot, no linens for the sofa, and only 2 towels. Immediately, I contacted the host, and we were assured those items would be delivered. It was the next day, midday, before we received them. We were exhausted and just needed sleep, not to cram into a bed or sleep on a……

“The apartment was very clean, spacious, tastefully decorated and the owners have thought of every last detail to make the stay absolutely perfect. We had one double room and the bathroom and our Mum had the other double bedroom with ensuite. She has mobility issues and can get into a shower cubical but not a bath with overhead shower so it made it great for her. The owners even left a bag of ice in the freezer!Apart from the excellent accommodation, the views of Tobermory high street and the……

“Sadly we only had a very short 1 evening stay at this beautiful location. We would have enjoyed more time here. In that short time we received above and beyond care. I asked where we might be able to find ice when checking in. The nearest market was already closed for the evening. Olwen from reception was so nice. She said she couldn’t promise, but her husband might be able to help. An hour or so later her husband knocked on the door with our special delivery. So incredibly kind. Thank you……

“We booked at the last minute fir 2 nights as we were delayed sailing to Isle of Barra due to bad weather. Melfort was perfect for us to relax and begin our holiday, the family loved the pool and we had a lovely walk. The cottage was great. Most important the staff were just so helpful, they could not do enough. We are already recommending to friends.”

“The setting is idyllic in lovely peaceful surroundings, nature all around. The cottage is large, airy and bright and everything you could need was provided. Although quite a distance from Oban, the main road was pretty quiet and a pleasant drive. The pool was an added bonus, but the sauna wasn't working. We were there on the hottest weekend of the year, so didn't need the sauna.”
