Stayed with extended family in several condos in Beach Walker. Two of them were beautifully updated and charged the same amount as this unit. This one had a very weird layout: enter on one level, go down steps to kitchen/ living area, go down steps to two bedrooms and bath, go down more steps to another bed and bath. We bought a baby gate to block off the most treacherous set of stairs. The balcony facing the beach was very narrow and crowded with rocking chairs and a table intended for bar stools.
The condo was dated but clean. There were just so many decorative items jammed on the shelves in the living and dining rooms that it made the place seem smaller. We actually didn’t notice the thermostat on the second level until the last day because it was hidden by stuff on the shelf!
The property management was responsive to our inquiries about why the pool was closed to swimming for our first 4 days. The HOA apparently never answered their emails, but it eventually opened up and we never learned why it was closed.
We had great weather and enjoyed the beautiful beach. The boardwalk was pretty long with steps in places which our family members with toddlers and babies in strollers navigated.
We love Amelia Island and have stayed here dozens of times at different locations. We’ll stay elsewhere next year.
