"Amazing buffet for dinner and breakfast. We hadn’t ordered the half board in advance, but paid for the dinner buffet on site and it was well worth it. One of the best buffets we’ve seen in Japan so far, and it included a great selection of alcoholic drinks! "

"Friendly staff, nice natural Onsen within premise, very convenient-centrally located and brightly lit, especially when walking back at night after dinner outside, it's most welcoming. Amenities at the lounge and free shuttle service to/from Yamagata station is important for me so it's nice to have that. Room is spacious, very peaceful stay."

"Stayed 4 nights, beside being good at location, reasonable price; service was superb. My luggage delivery was challenging when I had to recall it back all the way from Aomori due to tsunami- earthquake alert, and the staff were very patient, took the trouble to call Yamato to ensure my luggages was safely sent back. Thanks to a gentleman staff (4/20) who find me a good rroom rate to extend extra day and make 1st call to Yamato, and Ms Sato San (4/23) who again called to check when my luggage didn't turn up on time. Much appreciated!! Will definitely come back again."

"Absolutely incredible! The staff was very friendly and the onsens were relaxing. We didn't realize there was a shiatsu massage chair in the room. That was a definite bonus. We went for the junior suite, which was a bit of a splurge, but worth every penny. I would definitely recommend the upgrade. "

"Staying here was a great experience. Relaxing in our private onsen while looking out at the mountain and city was stunning. Our other favorite part was the dinner - our server was so amazing with us and compliments to the chef for preparing the delicious food. "This resort has an amazing location with a gorgeous view of Lake Hibara and Mt. Bandai, and the Five Colored Ponds. Their staff members are very formal and friendly and has a great restaurant buffet. The rooms and building itself are in okay condition with some scuffs and stains, but overall an excellent place with a very unique gift store with great items like food, snacks, and gifts. The traditional Japanese room is very nice"

"Clean room, amenities, massage chair, suite-like room, futuristic Toyo toilet, TV in each room, two beds, spacious bathroom, the whole package. I stayed for three nights in the Luxury suite. It was worth it. They have three restaurants in the hotel. The Zao Ropeway is 5 to 10 minutes away. You can by your gondola tickets at the front desk at a discounted price. Location wise, you are literally near the slopes. The bus terminal is a 7 to 10 minute walk."

"We were very grateful for the cleanliness of the room! We had a room with a private bathroom, and both the sleeping area and the bathroom was very clean. Futon beds were comfortable and warm.
