We had another amazing stay at The Camp! Jonathan is a wonderful host and the house has everything you could want for vacation. We've already booked for 2025, see you next summer Jonathan!
The lake house was a great venue to enjoy family time. Loved the big fireplace in the living room with a great cabin vibe. We enjoyed all that the area had to offer, Ausable Chasm, Lake Placid village, hiking Baxter Mt trails for views of the fall colors, visited the Keene farmers market and the nearby brewery. At the lake we paddled the canoe & paddle board to Schuyler Island, enjoyed the fire pit at the beach roasting marshmallows and making S’mores. It was a lovely family vacation!
Our family of four really enjoyed our stay at Johnathan's home, and appreciated the many fun ways to enjoy the lake - paddleboards, kayak, tube, and a boat ride around the lake followed by all of us getting a chance to try tubing for the first time! The house had plenty of space and everything we needed to enjoy our stay. When we had a cooler day we took the opportunity to cross the lake by ferry to enjoy the city of Burlington and the restaurants and shops it has to offer. Overall we enjoyed our visit!
We spent the weekend and the eclipse at the camp. It was spectacular, the view of the eclipse was perfect. The house was exactly as advertised and exceeded our expectations.
We enjoyed our stay. The camp had a variety of water crafts which we used every day. At night there were many games to choose from. The screen porch was perfect for meals and relaxing. The camp could have been a bit cleaner (fridge and main room) but overall we had a nice stay. Jonathan was a great host
Our family took our first family vacation together here at the camp on beautiful Lake Champlain. Jonathan is my cousin and he has truly created a vacation dream come true. I’m impressed by what he has accomplished here. The house was a perfect layout for our extended family (5 adults, 2 little kids and a young dog). There was room for everyone to gather and space to spread out as well. And the lake is the cherry on top! So much fun on the lake. Jonathan is a wonderful host and we are all already looking forward to our next visit!
The camp on the lake is a true gem. Coming from the south where every bit of shorefront property is stacked wall-to-wall with large houses and huge boat docks, this Lake Champlain Adirondack retreat is the complete opposite. The lake is never crowded, the cabin holds its 1930s charm with modern amenities, and if it rains, there is so much to do in the immediate vicinity. What a great time and Jonathan is a superb host who makes sure his guests are well accommodated and there are lots of toys to play with on the lake.
Jonathan's camp is a treasure. The cabin has beautiful views and lots of different places and ways to enjoy them. He provides excellent service. The camp provides the best of charm from another era and modern comforts. From the roaring fire in the fireplace to the lake front screened in porch camp can be enjoyed no matter what the weather brings.
Mr. King keeps a very clean, gracious home with wonderful historical photographs, maps, and appointments, and he is discreet, but available and eminently able to inform of the history of the place and area. Great grounds, beautifully kept, on an ideal perch on Lake Champlain adjacent to Schuyler's Island and 15 minutes from the Ferry to Burlington if it rains. In good weather, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, or boat riding are AWESOME!
We had a wonderful experience at this property. The beach and dock were everything our little family could have asked for- and all of the water toys were perfection. We had kayaks, paddleboards, paddle boats and canoes at our disposal. Our host took us out on his boat in the afternoon and was a wealth of information. He was available at all times and improved our stay immensely. I suggest bringing water shoes as the beach is all rocks and definitely hurts the feet. Fires in the evening were wonderful- we can’t wait to return!
We had a wonderful time at this lovely and well-equipped home. The screened in porch is heaven with comfortable rocking chairs and a table that could be opened up to allow dining on the porch. Views cannot be beat. Kitchen was very nice and had everything you need. Living room and bedrooms were very comfortable . Dock was a perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Jonathan was a very friendly and pleasant host, especially nice of him to provide perfect weather too.
We spend a wonderful week at the King Camp with our dog. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The porch really is the best room in the house, spent a lot of time there. We had fun trying out the SUPs and kayaks. Jonathan was very nice and took us out not he boat a few times. He also told us a lot of fun history about the lake and his family camp.

Relaxation and fun
This is our second time visiting this property. Jonathan is a wonderful host and the camp is a special place. Our kids loved using all of the water toys and we spent most days by the lake. There are lots of games to play and the porch is great for reading. The kitchen and bathrooms are recently updated and are great. There are lots of great things to do nearby if you want to leave the property. It is so nice though we stuck around most of the week and just relaxed!
This camp was an AWESOME place to stay. Very clean and the ammenities were very nice. Some adirondack chairs(plastic ones) would be nice to sit on in front overlooking the lake. The screened in room was very nice also and the beds comfortable. the kitchen appliances were very nice with beautiful dishes and stove top ware. the Living room was very comfortable also. Jonathan is a super guy and he ski's(right down my line).
