Laurel, a luxury rural retreat

Laurel is the epitome of a rural retreat. Surrounded by rolling countryside and heavy with Cumbrian charm, this luxurious apartment combines high-end design with the quaint appeal of a traditional Lakeland farmhouse.

Nestled in a quiet corner of the countryside, with the incredible backdrop of the Kentmere Valley, could this be the perfect base for your Lake District adventure?

The apartment is located at the end of a private drive that snakes along the edge of the River Kent and the famous Dales Way. The recently renovated former farmhouse breathes tranquillity whilst providing all the mod-cons of a luxury hotel. With two convenient parking spaces right outside, simply pull up, step through the garden gate, and make your way to your lovely hideaway.

Relax, Eat, Retreat
Enter through the refurbished stone porch, reminiscent of the former farmhouse and cast your eyes over the idyllic open plan living/dining area. The traditional log burner offers a welcome treat after cold days out exploring. Relax on the cosy corner sofa and embrace the views that stretch out from the French Doors, across the garden and to the fields beyond. The newly installed kitchen and breakfast island offer the perfect environment for casual dining and entertaining. Why not take dinner alfresco and make the most of the long summer evenings?

Sweet Slumber
Oozing with luxurious Scandi-design, Laurel magically combines humble Lakeland inspirations with the tones and textures of a Nordic retreat. The first bedroom boasts a stunning double bed complete with a rattan headboard and botanical prints above. Simplicity is key in the creation of Laurel, stripped back furnishings, minimalist décor and a colour palette inspired by the natural environment. The second bedroom echo’s the first, with a locally made, Herdy mattress and natural fibres. It is impossible not to relax here.
The bathrooms at Laurel mirror the serene spaciousness of the bedrooms. Refresh in the double-width, walk-in showers or soak up the ambience in the free-standing bath. A stay at Laurel is about taking your time and enjoying those peaceful moments.

Fresh Air
The hypnotic views of Lakeland countryside are inescapable at Laurel. Bring the outdoors in, through the French Doors and lounge on the soft velvet sofa with the sun on your face. Make the most of a Lake District summer and bathe in light on the lawn to the sound of the sheep and the singing birds.
Could this be the mindful retreat you’ve been looking for?

Out & About
Just a half hour stroll away, you’ll find the bustling village of Staveley, well equipped with local amenities including More? Bakery, Hawkshead Brewery, Wilf’s café, Wheelbase, for the cyclists and Kimi’s Gelato. The town of Kendal is a fifteen-minute drive from the property, with ample opportunity for shopping and activities including Lakeland Climbing Wall and The Brewery Arts Centre.
Laurel is the ideal property for anyone seeking a rural, but not remote, holiday destination situated at the gateway to the Lake District.

Internally the property was as photographed however after phoning the first morning to let management know there was a fly issue- some bug spray would be helpful so our food prep would be easier ,there was giant hogweed down the access path making access dangerous for me as a cancer patient as it is a highly toxic plant ...the garden had not had the grass cut in a very long time making it not useable -and no hot water was the icing on the cake ....nothing was rectified they said they would be out to sort it but that never happened for 36 hrs in the case of the hog weed only which they cut back but did not dig out it will regrow very quickly ...the hot water issue never got sorted we boiled kettles of water to get some hot water to wash in ...please be aware that this was a problem during my stay .This is a down stairs flat there is no sound proofing between the flats which was not restful the upstairs flat is also a holiday let .with the same company ... I would avoid .
